A: Yes you do need a drill bit to install the anchor.

submitted byShelly - 5 years agoTarget staff supportA: I think this all depends on what type of wall material you are hanging these on and how heavy the items you plan to put on them are. I did not use the anchors. I went right into my drywall and I have zero issues with there sturdiness. They are very secure. I don't have extremely heavy items on them either, though.

Not sturdy as at all. Once it was up the oring that comnects the screw into the housing just broke off. Then it was a pain in the butt to take down. Returned for a refund.

Very poor quality in every regard. Bought two, one the metal ring for the screw popped off while securing the piece to the wall. The second, the fasteners on the bottom of the shelf for the metal to hook on were entirely non existent! So two kits came together to make one functional shelf.

While these look great, they are very cheaply made. Where the metal attaches to the wood ended up breaking. They feel decently sturdy, I just hope they last. At least they look good!

I put this above my stove to display knick knacks, very happy with the result. I installed it by myself and found it easy to install and the instructions were clear. Though it said you just need a screwdriver but I had to use a drill to start a hole in the wall and the anchors are huge and put a little bit bigger hole in the wall then I would like but feel in my case it's a permanent fixture but if this is temporary I wouldn't use the anchors provided. So far it's been holding up great and happy with my purchase.
