Description

The Worx Nitro 40V 15” Cordless String Trimmer offers pro-grade performance to support a variety of grass trimming tasks—such as cleaning up sidewalk, driveway, and retaining wall areas. The high-efficiency brushless motor runs 50% longer, is 25% more powerful, and delivers a 10X longer life than trimmers with a standard brush motor. With this added power, the 15” dual-exit cutting head makes trimming effortless—even in dense, overgrown areas. The 15” cutting diameter optimizes coverage to help save time and effort on expansive landscaping tasks. Use the bump-feed system to advance trimmer line with a simple tap on the ground, giving you tighter control over how much line you use. Find the right speed for your specific trimming task using the variable speed control, conveniently located on the handle for easy adjustment. For lighter tasks, switch to ECO mode to conserve battery power and extend run time. And with the easy-read charge level indicator, you can quickly see how much battery power is left and determine when it’s time to recharge. The 40V 15” String Trimmer uses an easy-load spool head—a new addition to the Worx product line that stays on the tool for simpler trimmer line replacement. This spool fits standard-sized .095” trimmer line, which can be purchased directly through Worx. Includes: 40V 15” Cordless String Trimmer, (2) 20V 4.0Ah Power Share PRO batteries, (1) 4A dual-port quick charger.

Needs some improvements

3 out of 5 stars

recently tried out this grass trimmer, and while it has its strengths, there are a few key areas that need improvement. Pros: The trimmer delivers impressive power, especially compared to my previous model, the W184.9. I also appreciate the versatility of being able to hook up other tools, though I haven’t tested that feature yet. Cons: Throttle Control: The throttle trigger lacks precision. It jumps from off to high revolutions, offering no gradual speed increase. This makes it difficult to control and drains batteries quickly, even in ECO mode. For reference, I went through three sets of batteries just trimming an average front yard. Guard Shield: The guard shield design is inadequate. It fails to block debris, including small stones and sand, which can become hazardous. Goggles or a face shield, along with long pants, are an absolute must when using this tool. A redesign of the guard would significantly enhance safety. Cutting Head Design: The bulky cutting head limits your ability to achieve a close trim. Tilting the trimmer sideways is the only workaround, which is far less convenient than the adjustable head feature on the W184.9. I hope the company considers redesigning the shield and offering an upgraded version for purchase. Despite its power, the trimmer’s inefficiencies make it less practical for everyday use.

Hello There! Thank you for sharing your experience and review! We greatly appreciate your honest feedback as it gives us a better understanding of where we need to improve. This trimmer has a bump feed system! This means when you bump the cutting head to the floor, the line will advance. However, if this is not working how it should please email us at worx@positecgroup.com to advise us of what is going on and we will be happy to help! Thank you for choosing Worx!

My husband has the original 40v with the pre loaded spools of line and loved it but we upgraded to this one because the one he has you can't put attachments on it, so we got this one and before even using it he noticed it doesn't come with the preloaded spool string so now he's mad and hates this one!

I had a worx trimmer for many years and gave it to my son-in-law. I got this new one, bigger and more powerful with two batteries. I ordered two by mistake and sent one back. I would like to receive a refund for the returned trimmer.

Powerful, batteries hold up really well, charge up pretty fast. Twine is not depleted fast and can cut even blackberries, just as good as my gas powered could. Which I seldom use now. So much lighter weight, well balanced. I'm a 76 year old using it.

THE BEAST

I have had a few string trimmers in my life and this Nitro 40 Volt is far the best of the best. I call it the beast because this trimmer is by far the most powerful one I have ever had. Its super quiet has thicker string and is simple to use. I take down some weeds that seem to grow overnight. I also have the attachment blade that is easy to hook up and very powerful. If your looking for a string trimmer and a blade attachment to cut bigger brush this is it. Just buy it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This weedeater is much more powerful than the smaller model I previously owned (and wore out). This model is much longer which is probably great for taller people. I am 5'3" and the smaller model was more comfortable for me. I just need to get used to it. Glad the batteries last longer than the smaller model.

string issues solved but now have battery issues

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First Let me say I do LOVE this string trimmer. It is really powerful and cuts thick grasses down to the dirt. I bought it August of 2021 so only used it once or twice that fall. Summer of 2022 I used it probably half a dozen times but I started having a LOT issues with the string. It would not wind as expected and I could only put a small piece of string in and had to take it all apart to even do that. This Summer I found the solution take the head apart and SPRAY everything with WD40 or some other similar product. String issues were solved! Now I can just put the string in the hole and wind it as expected no disassembly required! I wish I figured that out faster. UNFORTUNATLY, the Battery Life is decreasing after basically one full summers use. (I have used it 4 times this summer). It came with two of the 4 amp 20 volt power share batteries. When I first got it the batteries lasted 30-45 minutes but now the batteries only last 17 minutes. I do have a second set of batteries that are only 2 amp 20 volt and lasted the same if not a bit longer. I have only used the provided charger and always let them fully charge. It seems crazy to spend hundreds on batteries that take hours to charge and then only work for 17 minutes! I have a lot of string trimming to do, and at this rate, with the 2 sets of batteries, It will take me 4-5 different uses to get everything done and then I will have to start over again without a break. I do LOVE this trimmer but probably not the best choice if you have a lot of string trimming to do and want to get it done in 1-2 weekends.

WA183 40V Cordless Trimmer - One you can truly lov

This is the electric trimmer I waited more than a decade for! This one has the POWER and the features you need to trim the edges of a large yard. The batteries last between 45 - 60 minutes on a charge with sustained power to get the job done. The heavier string powers through tall grass, weeds and even light brush with amazing ease. Uses two 20 volt batteries so is backward compatible with your earlier 20V batteries and chargers allowing you to save money buying the tool only.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love cordless string my trimmerd but they always seem too heavy for prolonged use. Not so with this one. It has plenty of power to trim my very large yard and is quite a bit lighter than my yellow colored other brand trimmer. There are 2 settings but I haven’t really used the eco setting. My sidewalks and driveway are edged well again and my fence lines are clean. I’m very pleased with both the performance and battery life.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] To tell you the truth, I really didn't think that this Nitro cordless trimmer would have much power, boy was I wrong. This is just as strong as a gas powered trimmer. I had no problem edging up my lawn and trimming around the house with a nice clean cut. I am amazed. Not only that, I have used it twice and it is still holding a charge. And it's not heavy. Impressive.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had struggled for many years getting rid of weeds after the rainy season. I have paid so much money to contractors to get rid of weeds. This year I decided to try doing weed removal by myself using the nitro string trimmer and it worked out so perfect. The string trimmer was easy to use and lightweight to carry. It is very powerful and helps get rid of strong and tall weeds. I use it every two weeks and my front yard and backyard stay all clean.

Electric POWER!

Lunchbox09 - 2 years ago

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'll start by saying this, I was turned off to electric lawn equipment by using another brand before I received this product. That is officially not the case any more. I am more than impressed with this Nitro 40V Trimmer. This thing has more power than I expected, and even blows my gas trimmer out of the water! The two batteries provide more than enough power, as well as run time for my home. I was able to weed eat, and edge my front yard and back yard without using close to half of the power. The power indicator lights are useful to make sure you will have enough juice for the job you are using. The string comes pre-loaded, and you are ready to go after a full charge of the batteries. The battery charges fits both at the same time, so no need to remember to switch them. When I first assembled the trimmer, it felt unbalanced in my hand, until i put the batteries on. After that it sits nicely and its very east to use. To feed more string while using, all you need do is bump the head on the ground while the trimmer is running. Very simple and easy! I would highly recommend this product for anyone wanting to get into an electric trimmer, and get rid of the gas can. The power, and battery life make this a no brainer for me!
