ZWILLING Pro 7-pc Knife Block Set - Bamboo

This is my second set of Zwilling Pro knives. The first set I had was slightly different than this and I added knives over the years. I had them for 10 years, before they were lost in a house fire. It's been a year and half since I had these, and I've struggling with cheap knives. Just got these and I have to say, a world of difference than the cheap knives. The chef's knife is so well balanced, lightweight, comfortable bolster for a pinch grip. I can dice onions or mince garlic so much more easily now. Edge is very sharp. Just sliced sirloin tri tip super thin like cutting butter. Very precise. Durabilty wasn't a problem before and I expect these to work as well. This set is a really good bang for the buck when you get it it on sale. It has three knives that I use all the time, the chef's, the pairing, and the bread knife. My previous set also had a 5" santoku and a 5" utility that was the shape of a pairing knife. I do miss the santoku, as my wife loved it. That is a great knife for small hands. This utility knife has a different shape than my previous one. I am ambivalent about the utility knife. I'd rather have a santoku. But a solid starter set. The shears that come with the set are okay, not the greatest. They don't seem to come apart and I remember from before that when you wash the shears you have to really dry them with a towel and get into the joint. They will start to rust otherwise. I plan on getting the 2 piece carving set in the future, the downside is that this block doesn't seem to be able to accommodate the fork which is a drawback. But as far as value, quality, usefulness, I wouldn't buy anything other than a Zwilling Pro with the tapered bolster. They aren't showy. They don't have the damascus folding. But none of that is needed to thin cut steak or dice onions. They just work really well and are pretty easy to maintain and are offered at a reasonable price.

My first knife set was from their other company called Henkel, and was given to me as a gift. After loosing them in a move I knew what company I would go back to in the future. ZWILLING is a family loved product now. I’d look forward to buying more if these knives weren’t so longstanding and durable.

Absolutely love this knife set. Chef's knife is a perfect fit in the hand, bread knife gets the job done, having both the utility knife and the pairing knife is a perfect 1-2 punch for handling the smaller items. I bought a set of 4 Zwilling pro steak knives to go along with this set. Outside of a maybe a breaker knife, there isn't much else that you need! Avoid those knife sets with 15 knives, you won't use em all!

This is a great product. Lightweight, but sturdy. Easy to clean and store. I love chopping in my kitchen now!

This knife set is very sharp and useful for every type of cooking. It is also aesthetically pleasing. I wouldn’t recommend washing it in a dishwasher even though it’s dishwasher safe because I ruined my previous set after the dishwasher made it dull.

The sharpening steel the set comes with is a great addition to help maintain the knives in top condition and as sharp as possible. Cutting vegetables and meats is a lot easier now. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's too early to give a review, but while cleaning the new knives, I sliced my finger without even noticing it because they were that sharp. My wound skin sticking well, healed well and quickly because of the clean cut. I am satisfied.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Beautifully crafted, and the swept-back bolster allows for excellent control and feel. I've had a Professional S chef's knife for 22 years and it still works well to this day. These newer blades are lighter and the spine is a little thinner, but technology - and blade making - moves on after a couple decades. Once I got used to the new weight and slightly different blade profile, they glide along beautifully.
