Most Ice Age titles are published as paperback and hardcover books. At least one related title is available in a digital format (a video game).

Ice Age titles target both children and adults. Several children’s books list age ranges such as about 7–11 or 8–11; many adult-oriented books are marked for older readers (metadata sometimes shows “22 years and up”). The game listed carries an ESRB rating of E (Everyone).

Physical sizes vary but generally fall in a modest paperback/hardcover range: heights around 8.2 to 11.0 inches, widths about 5.4 to 8.4 inches, and thicknesses roughly 0.23 to 0.8 inches.

The titles mainly reference the late Pleistocene. Examples in the materials note times of about 20,000 years ago and Ice Age floods discussed as recent as around 14,000 years ago.

Ice Age titles commonly cover paleontology and Ice Age megafauna (for example, woolly mammoths), glaciology and glaciers, regional Ice Age flooding and its landforms, and climate history and its effects on human societies.

Some children’s Ice Age books use vibrant full-color photographs, diagrams, hands-on activities, and simple experiments to explain glaciers and climate topics.

The titles mention ice-core study and expeditions, aerial imagery and geologic interpretation of flood landforms, and field tools such as GPS and ground-penetrating radar.
