strings double bass

Listings specify strings for 1/2 and 3/4 double basses. Some 3/4 strings also list a playing length of 41 3/4 inches (1060 mm).

Some long-scale sets list individual string lengths (examples: 38" and 36 3/4" measured from ball-end to silk/taper). Certain 3/4-size strings cite a playing length of 41 3/4 inches (1060 mm).

Materials listed include stranded steel cores with nickel winding, nylon tape wound over a golden-alloy underlay, and stainless-steel flat-wound constructions with polished finishes.

Some strings are tension-adjusted specifically for A‑E‑B‑F# scordatura solo tuning and are scaled to fit 3/4-size basses with a stated playing length.

Lengths are given either as the distance from the ball-end to the silk/taper for individual strings (examples: 38" and 36 3/4") or as an overall playing length for some sizes (example: 41 3/4 inches / 1060 mm).

Many listings show a package quantity of 1 (individual strings). There are also full sets described, including 5-string and 6-string sets.
