I I am so happy with my new kitchen aid mixer. I've wanted one for a long time and finally made the purchase. I love the pistachio color. I think that the color is much more attractive in person than what is shown in the stock picture, which is a little lime greenish. The color in person is more of a very very light sage.

Even though I considered buying any number of other brands (for a lot less money) I decided that KitchenAid has been a good, solid, reliable brand for decades. So, I purchased the less expensive KitchenAid (maybe it's cheaper because of the unusual color). Have used it a few times so far and it seems fine. When it came out of the shipping box it had some goopy oil that had dripped from the motor area and had spread in several places, but it cleaned up easily. Very happy so far.

As it was mixing I noticed the speed handle started to spark and when I turned it off, I couldn't get it to turn back on again. It seems like there were electrical problems that probably caused it to be refurbished in the first place. Since the warranty was voided as a refurbished product, I ended up buying a brand new stand mixer from a physical store.

I did notice the attachments seem slightly less snug than in the ancient one I’ve been intermittently borrowing from a friend. I wonder why that is. The packaging was also all styrofoam, leaving teeny tiny foam balls everywhere when I unpacked it. A switch to pressed cardboard would be amazing. All in all, I love my new mixer.
