    Enlightened

    Surprised at the mix. I was to boxer/pit. Turns out chow/Pyrenees/boxer/pit. Money so well spent that i bought 1 for my daughter to test her male. Whose looks like Thor. But his eye patch is on the right side.

    Somewhat confused by results

    It seems my dog has virtually every breed alive in him, which I find to be really bizarre… how can one dog have 17 different breeds in him? It doesn’t feel correct to me and it’s very hard to plan his needs and his medical needs around such a random dumpster dive of various breeds. He’s a beautiful dog, but I really was hoping for something a little bit more specific on how to handle his needs in his medical requirements but when your dog is 17 different breeds, it just means they all cancel each other out and nothing is any use

    Amazing results

    Truly eye opening. We used to for two of our dogs. One of them was supposedly an Australian Kelpie…. We were waaaaaaay off. She’s a mutt. Through and through. Our other dog, we thought would be part pittbill and Dachshund! He ended up being French bulldog and a chihauhau. I recommend Wisdom Panel to anyone who wants to know more about their animals, including relatives! We will be using it soon for our cats.

    Exactly everything I needed

    I bought this panel not for breed but the genetic portion as I have a rescue and didn't have any further information. Being able to prepare for the future needs is a relief.

    I was worried that my puppy didn't provide enough DNA on the swab, but thankfully I was wrong. The results came much faster than I expected and were easy to understand.

    What a great experience!

    We love learning what breeds make up our dog, and we believe they were very accurate. We put the percentages of each breed into an AI app, after we got the results, and the dog it came up with looked exactly like our dog. We also appreciated learning about any possible health problems tied to his DNA, which luckily turned out to be none!

    Why no Hip Dysplasia screen

    It was fun and informative to find out what our rescue dog's ancestry was, and relieving to learn he is not predisposed to any of the conditions that Wisdom Panel looks for. But I would think it would screen for hip dysplasia, given how common that genetic condition is. I was disappointed that it did not.

    Easy to Use

    The kit came quickly, and I felt the swab process was easy to use with my dog. The results came back within a week or so after I shipped the swabs back for testing. The results were fun to review and I assume they are accurate (I did not run any other comparison tests to confirm).

    Premium Panel Results

    I adopted my pet from a shelter and wanted to know more about her and really to see if there was any family she had. The results were amazing and I shared them with my vet who was also just as impressed by the amount of information it gave and the accuracy. Definitely recommend wisdom panel especially if you are looking to find out as much as possible about your fur-baby!!

    I am shocked at the DNA results of my dog Chewie!! I would not have guessed he has some of the breeds -Malamute, Rottweiler and Husky but not surprised he has Beagle and definitely not surprised he has German shepherd but a smaller amount than thought and I couldnt believe he didnt have Swiss mountain dog like the shelter thought he had. . . We so glad we did the DNA test and would definitely recommend doing it to others!! It was fun to find out he has a brother but that family has yet to respond to my email- hopeful though!!!
