Lifetime 65 Quart High Performance Cooler, Light Sage (91417)

As far as keeping ice this has been a great cooler. The only issues that make me question getting another are that the lid has warped upward at the corners and both of the latches have dry rotted. And I pride myself on taking care of my coolers.

Received as gift and only used it once and went to use it again and the lock handle broke into.

I really like the ice chest. It does everything I want it to do. However my fasteners broke in the Southern MS heat. Where can I find replacements because I really like this cooler.

I just used mines for the third time since I purchased it. It doesn’t not hold ice as long as they say it does. Fill the cooler beverages and ice on Saturday and Monday afternoon… water! Place another large bag of ice on Monday afternoon, Wednesday…water!!! Cold water yes ice… no!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second Lifetime cooler, and I continue to be impressed with the construction quality and ice-retention of these coolers. This model easily retained ice for 5+ days, making it ideal for week-long trips. I really appreciate the latching mechanism -- easy to open and close, while providing a very solid lockdown of the lid to the base of the cooler. The drain cap is attached to the drain and is very easy to unscrew thanks to its oversized, gear-like design. The rope handles are nice, especially when it comes to lowering/lifting the cooler into a vehicle or onto a boat from a dock. Durable construction with a sturdy lid that did not flex when I stood on it and sat on it. Big fan of this cooler -- highly recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I put this cooler to test on the fourth of July weekend. It was my main cooler for a weekend camping trip in the hot and humid Texas heat. It held mostly meat and a few drinks. It lasted me all day Friday Saturday and Sunday no problem. The ice in the cooler could've easily lasted another 3 days. The build quality is also great on the cooler. I used the cooler as a platform to help set camp, fished from the top of it, and of course used it as a chair and didn't notice any flex on the lid. The kids creates a tight seal and I didn't notice any water leaks. Overall a great cooler and will be using it for years to come.

I was able to bring this amazing cooler with me, it has been in the back of the truck in extreme heat with heat indexes of 115-130 degrees. Lifetime Coolers NEVER disappoints!! It has kept our water and gatorade cold, we have to replenish the ice every couple of days which is unbelievable in these conditions. So the description says that the cooler has wheels. Well I assure you that there are no wheels on this cooler. It’s a little big to be lugging around without wheels.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This cooler did not fail to impress! It's incredibly stout, sturdy and tough. Perfect for all of our outdoor adventures. We can pile stuff on top of it, use it as a bench or step stool, and there isn't the slightest give. Not to mention the seals and insulation on this thing are top notch – our frozen milk jugs were still completely solid after 2 days up in the mountains, and we even had most of the loose ice we put in as well. What little bit of water that had built up didn't leak at all when I accidentally tipped the cooler when trying to load it in the truck (this thing is hefty, use a friend!). Oh, and did you know it has bottle openers? How cool is that! We noticed them this trip, and can't wait make use of them in the future because who ever remembers to pack a bottle opener? We certainly don't, but now we don't have to worry about it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used the lifetime coolers pretty extensively. I took the previous model of cooler on a week long camping trip in the middle of July. In that trip we brought all of our food for the week in two coolers. In that time I bought ice for my cooler twice. I thought that was pretty incredible. I drove all around Yellowstone National Park with my coolers on the roof of my car. Where they were beaten up by heat, bugs, dust and dirt. Everyone else in my part had to buy ice ever day. I simply drained mine twice and added ice. It was fantastic. I bring that up to say that this cooler has performed every bit as good as its predecessor. I have had this cooler in the bed of my truck for almost 3 weeks. It has been everything from a cooler to a step stool and a table. I am doing this review in November. So it is generally cooler outside already. I actually did not need to add ice. Because the coldness of the cooler from sitting in garage overnight kept all of my food cool the entire rest of the next day. A few of the features I liked are the two bottle openers/locks for the cooler. Because I have left it in the bed of my truck it has been easy to make it secure. I also like that when you close the cooler is really seals tight. You have to pop the lid up pretty good to break the seal when you open it. Which is a huge win. I know that this cooler is keeping all the pressure inside. Way better that other coolers I have used that immediately pop open when you release the clips. I have kids that play all the time with things. Mine like to open the clips of the cooler and pull it down again. Keeping the lid sealed tight with out the clips being locked was a really nice feature to me. These are durable, keep things cool for a long time, and are quality products. The other piece I love about this cooler and the other provided by Lifetime is the affordability. You will never find the quality and features of this cooler for this price anywhere else.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This cooler is built like a rock doubles as a solid stepping stool (even for a 250 lbs. guy). The cooler fits a 20 lbs. bag of ice and 48 bottles of water with room to spare. I like to store my cooler in the backseat of my truck for easy access during long road trips, while unloading other coolers I would often get drenched in water while tipping coolers to get them out of the back. This is no longer the case with the seal on this cooler! After smoking our thanksgiving turkey, I wrapped it in tin foil and some towels and put it in the cooler. It held the heat so well that after 2 hours I still needed hot pads to touch the turkey.

I have been through several other brands around this price point and i truly believe that these coolers are worth at least twice what you pay for them. I have friends that have paid 2-3 times as much for a cooler that are in shock when mine is the only one with ice after a long weekend. This cooler holds ice extremely well, just as my other lifetimes do. The seal is much better than my older version 55. The latches are the best design out there in my opinion. In comparison to another much more expensive cooler, you can really feel these latches seal the cooler right rather than just hold it closed. The bottle opener is a nice touch, without taking up and unnecessary room. It worked on all of the bottles i tried. The cooler also feels very sturdy, without being overly heavy. I could stand on the cooler without feeling as if it was going to cave in, and I am 225 lbs. In my opinion, you aren’t going to find a better cooler for this price point or anywhere close. This cooler performs just as good or better as the coolers costing hundreds more.

This thing is the Thunder Beast of coolers, tough and insulated against the elements. *Warning*- For the people adventuring solo. This cooler is heavy when you get it full, so pack it after you place it in your vehicle or make sure you have a friend. This is typical of a cooler that can handle the extremes like this lil Thunder Beast. It's a BIG cooler, lift accordingly. Looks like the seal on the lid got relocated to a better spot and its thicker, I dumped mine on it’s side and it didn’t spill. *My wife thanks you. The bottle openers are on the corner. At first I was like awwwwwh how cute, then I used them, my cuteness went from awwwwww to awwwwwwsome in a hurry. There is a little notch under the opener perfect for bottle to fit and leverage down as you pop that top. It fit nicely in the back of my Wrangler and my dog could still jump out. I brined two 15 lbs turkeys in it the day before Thanksgiving, then cleaned it out and put some energy drinks and ice in it. We drove round the whole weekend and found black friday shoppers and handed them some much needed caffeine. We were in an out of the cooler 100 times and never needed to replace the ice. 5 days and still going strong. I jumped on the lid, hey it’s got a 5 year warranty…….why not? No problem. It felt secure and solid. Let’s not forget I named it my Thunder Beast. The lid has a texture, which is why I didn’t create a epic fail. So basically it’s safer than a barstool to dance on.

We filled the cooler with ice on Monday and it still has ice in it(Friday). The bottle openers work well with stubby bottles, long neck bottles, twist off and pop off bottles as well. It even works as a step stole and a chair. This is my first lifetime cooler and it won’t be the last. I’m excited to take this bad boy on our biking/camping trips next year! #beatcooleroutthere
