Twist and Shout Easy Install Curtain Rod - Room Essentials™

I am an interior designer and thougth these would be perfect for a dorm room job. They simply do not work. Installed them, they were locked, and the 3rd time we moved the curtains, the rod fell down. The curtains were not even heavy- mid-weight linen. I read all the reviews beforehand, but incorrectly assumed people weren't reading the directions. It could be the window I used them on was 47 and the rod was 48 so there simply wasn't enough tension- but overall a very poor product- cheap and plastic. Returned- never again. Back to basics. A great concept had it actually worked.

Great product if you don't want to drill holes in your wall. It does take two people to set up but very sturdy once in place correctly.

Cannot get the tension part to work, at all!

I was nervous about purchasing this when I read the reviews. I experienced some of the same things until I figured out the instructions were a little confusing. When following the instructions correctly and using a little ingenuity, they hang perfectly, and they're tight, and they're fantastic! Definitely recommend using grommet curtains so you can have your curtains go beyond the window frame. Just leave the last grommet out until you install the curtain and the rod and then hook the Grommet around the end! Definitely recommend! Recommend to the manufacturer to update your installation instructions eith more specific information! You should add in there that you have to unlock the rod spread the rod relock the rod really tight and then turn the end right side knob until it makes it even tighter! They left this part out! I was able to hang these by myself!

I like that you don't have to nail or screw in the wall.

Literally every single one had issues. If you have to hang it high, it’s very difficult to get tension.

The supposed ease and appearance of this rod are appealing, but don’t waste your time or money. The finial won’t stay in place and it’s difficult to install correctly. We just needed a curtain for a month until our blinds came in, and I’m not confident it will stay up that long. The rod fell at one point and scratched the finial up so it looks bad too

The rod is poorly made and the screw just ends up stripping the rod, especially if you choose not to screw it into the wall.

Love it. No screws and easy to install.

Put at the height you want it in the window, push the ends and twist the rod and it is good to go.

Windows must be exactly 90° for it work :/ Mine were rounded but i still tried just in case & they weren’t a match. RIP

I wanted to love this but it kept falling off, is not secure, and is a pain to reinstall.

Bought one of these a few years ago, and it's definitely overdue for a review. This tension rod has been great for the time I've had it. I've had thick thermal/blackout curtains for the last few years and the rod itself has held up just fine, even with opening and closing the curtains. I recently moved, and obviously had to remove the rod to do that, and there was no damage to the paint even after being there for so long.

cannot get the tension tight enough to stay. slips down. cannot use them.

This is the worst curtain rod. It took forever to extend as it was stuck. Then I couldn’t screw the call ends back on they would not tighten anymore. Returning it

I love that these are renter friendly and drill free. They look good in spite of being plastic. They work great WHEN they work. Just make sure to check that all parts are functioning before your return date. Don't procrastinate like I did, I had to use 2 to one that functioned properly. Don't put off the project once you have the rods.

The tension wasn't nearly strong enough. Twisting the ends just did not function properly. Had to return this item, it was impossible to get this to stay up.
