Q: Can the rod be cut for a smaller window?

A: Dear Mary. The minimum size of this telescopic rod set is 28". If you use only one of the two rods, it will not work, because the finials are a screw-in design. The one end of each rod does not have the nut installed for a screw-in finial. Even if it did, if you cut it, you have to remove the nut and insert it into the end of the rod which is a complicated process.
