The pile is as high as it says, just the fibers are thin and scraggly, not plush and thick like a high quality rug. It is just as pretty as it looks in the picture, but I don’t expect it to keep the floor warm at all in the winter.

    Soft and Pretty

My 3 year old was upset that the carpet was now gone so I looked for a softer and aesthetically pleasing rug that would function the same way as the carpet (a soft surface for jumping and rolling around). My 3 year old loves the rug and our guests love it too!

    My kids got headaches and short of breath

    What's more frustrating, a chemical smell from VOCs that lasts over a week with windows open and fan on, your kids getting sick from the smell, or having to roll the whole huge thing back up and return it? Not worth the hassle.

    HORRIBLE chemical smell

    This rug has a HORRIBLE smell, we have aired it out for days outside it’s ruined our carpet in our nursery I don’t know what else to do… I’ve tried using my carpet cleaner, carpet sprays, baking soda, fans… probably going to try to return it.

    Not quite what I was expecting

    The quality is not quite what I'd hoped for, but it doesn't take away from the look or design of the rug. The pile is not really shag. The fibers are long but there aren't many of them so the effect is of a thin, cheaper looking rug. It looks fine from a distance and the design is nice.

    Smells like toxic chemicals and thinner than it looks

    Was so excited to get this rug, then was very disappointed when it arrived. It’s not as thick as it looks online, and the strands are quite far apart so it feels thin. The worst part was the smell - it stank to the high heavens of chemicals and gave me and my family a huge headache. I even tried to pick it because it was Oeko Tek certified, but that apparently doesn’t cover the VOCs in polypropylene rugs. We aired it outside for a full day and it didn’t help with the smell at all, so we had to end up returning it.
