My dog chewed through this within five minutes the first time we used it. And he's not even a super bad chewer. Just your average puppy.

LOVED this leash for the first month we had it…but my the end of the month the dog had chewed halfway through it. I love how it retracts, doesn’t give rope burn, it’s bright so no one gets clotheslined by it, but it’s kind of useless if the dog can chew through it.

This is the best retractable I’ve ever found. Never jams. Super strong with quality hardware and easy to see at night for late toilet time. Ive bought three for my rescue facility and will buy more.

The D ring that holds the doggie bags fell off within the two weeks - not sure if I can reattach that or find some other way to hook the bag holder on to the leash handle

Correction: I was to quick to complain I'm changing the 1 star to a 5. I sprayed some WD 40 on the leash and it works fine. It worked great for about a month and 10 days and then it stopped retracting. So I look at it more like a rental. You rent it for $17 for a month and half worth of use out of it. Since it was passed the month warranty Amazon wouldn't replace it. But they did give me a $5 courtesy voucher towards another purchase

This leash gives my pup room to roam but leaves me the control to stop him from going too far. It seems pretty sturdy. We've had it for a few weeks and so far, so good. He's a 3 1/2 month old goldie puppy so I can't attest to the weight factor. I'd say he's running at about 30 lbs at this point and the leash has held up well. He's had it wrapped around things i.e. trees, rocks etc. and there has been no damage. He is also a chewer and no fraying of the leash yet. Easily retracts and locks easily as well. Took a while for him to get used to it but that is to be expected. Based this purchase on the reviews and I am extremely happy with it.

I personally am not a huge fan of retractable leashes, however my dog prefers to use the bathroom after zooming in 47 circles, and with a regular leash that can be pretty difficult. So I thought I would give a retractable leash a chance so she could have some more leeway and freedom while staying secure, and this leash is perfect for that. Only very minimal negative is the the button to secure & let loose isn't as user friendly as I would like, hopefully its just something I will get used to.
