Love the watch however it was most shocking when I found out that you have buy different faces for it , I would think that a watch that cost as much as it does, that would be somewhat included, just because of that fact I might return it

Overall good. Glitches + nice to have missing

Good watch for its features, fitness tracking, especially diving computer that I've used and doesn't require an additional subscription. Battery is also a highlights with 2 weeks autonomy. On the downside, my watch had to be replaced twice in a year already due to glitches (Garmin makes it easy and free to swap though). Garmin Pay is not working on my watch at all even with compatible cards/banks, can't add any at all. I've exhausted all troubleshooting and support options by now, not fixable at this point. Very frustrating! To Garmin: Own this! Go meet with the banks and stop telling your customers to do your work and ask their banks to make it compatible when not or make complex efforts to fix it. Your support has been more than helpless in this case - awful. Garmin Pay is an advertised feature on this watch. Also nice to have missing: hen immersing in a pool like to swim would be nice to have a temperature reading automatically popping up like Apple. Taking into account the downsides, it makes its price a little on the too expensive side of things.

    Texting and Receiving Call Issues

I purchased my Fenix Watch 8 over 6 months ago to be my main watch. Although it's a great looking watch and is top of the line for health and athletic features, it is a dinosaur when it comes to texting and calls. The ability to text someone is an after thought with this watch. When calls come through and I answer I can't hear the other person on the line and they can't hear me, so I have to go digging around my bag to get the calls. This is extremely inconvenient. I guess the ability for contacts to sync with the watch compromises battery quality. I ended up buying a Samsung Smart watch to wear when I'm not working out.

    Promptly returned my Fenix

a couple quick observations - the watch looks good - the display is good - feature set like activity tracking etc seems complete - feels less than premium though compared to my apple watch ultra, lighter, feels plasticy. Trying to configure it was a nightmare. I turned on the password to unlock the watch. As I was trying to set up my watch face the password prompt kept popping up. Trying to set the various widgets on the home screen was awkward to the point I gave up. Not sure that I ever felt comfortable using the touch screen and physical buttons for navigation seems very 80's. Finally I didn't really want to stop using the current golf tracking subscription I have but would have if I loved the watch. Since I would use that app on the Fenix and I there was enough friction getting things set up that sealed it for me. Returned w/in 72 hours.

    Exceptional multifunction watch

I've had my Garmin Phoenix 847 mm for about a month and I've used it everyday. I'm an avid golfer and it is fantastic for the game of golf also great for tracking daily activity, my daily walks, I absolutely love the tactical and regular flashlight built into the watch which allows me to get up at night and not have to turn on any lights. We recently had a major storm come through the area where power went out and I navigated the entire house and the breaker panels with my watch - very convenient. There's almost not a single use in my life that I do or this watch doesn't come in handy. Sometimes it's a little confusing on where things are located and what buttons to push but I keep going back to the YouTube video and that's helpful. Don't forget in the activities menu you can edit them and change where the appear in the menu so now Golf appears at the top of my activities for me and then other things based upon their use are now in priority order, that is also very helpful. I don't have enough good things to say about it. If you don't like the bezel color, I ordered different bezels that go on the top of it that are silver and red, black and white, so now you have multiple bezels you can use as well as multiple faces you can pick from and just transform the watch to look many different ways. Very cool

I've been using my new Garmin watch since I've unboxed it, and I can confidently say it's an exceptional device, especially for all types of runners. As someone who consistently logs 35-40 miles per week, I need a reliable and feature-rich watch, and this Garmin model delivers. From the moment I started using it, the watch's capabilities impressed me. It's packed with an array of fantastic features that genuinely enhance my running experience. What truly stands out is the mapping function; it's incredibly good and remarkably accurate. Unlike my previous experience with an Apple Watch, I've yet to lose a signal with my Garmin, which is crucial for tracking my routes and pace without interruption. This consistent GPS performance alone has been a game-changer for my training. The overall build quality and user experience are top-notch. It feels robust on the wrist and the interface is intuitive, making it easy to access all the data I need on the fly. The reliability and precision of this Garmin have made it my go-to choice, and I find myself reaching for it far more often than any other smartwatch I own. If you're an avid runner looking for a dependable, accurate, and feature-rich GPS watch that won't let you down on the trails or roads, I highly recommend this Garmin. It's truly a very good watch that has significantly elevated my training.

One month in. Not cheap but it is lighter, flashlight great for night runs, and I can actually see the AMOL display with my dodgy short sightedness = much needed! Is a little slow to turn on when you flick your wrist over to see the time and not cheap but great overall if you are an active user.

The Garmin Fenix 8 AMOLED 47mm is an excellent watch, its advanced health tracking and golf features, are super cool. The bright AMOLED display is easy to see and read. My watch offers in-depth health insights, including heart rate variability, sleep quality, recovery status, and personalized energy monitoring through the Body Battery feature. I love the built-in GPS with Plays Like distances, Virtual Caddy, automated shot tracking, and access to thousands of courses. Despite all these features, its battery life is out of this world. I recommend this watch whether you're training for peak performance or fine-tuning your golf game. I love my Fenix 8.

I bought the Fenix 8 after a couple of less-than-optimal experiences with competitor products. After several months with the watch, I am convinced that there is not a more thoughtfully designed sports watch on the market. Everything on this watch just works, and Garmin has thought of everything. Even small details like the watch automatically ejecting water from the speaker after a watersports activity speak to the level of detail that Garmin focused on when designing this watch. The software is fast and fluid, the screen is brilliant, and the health and exercise data collected is precise and presented in a useful and palatable format. The only thing that I feel could use some improvement with the watch is that when I take a phone call from the watch, there is evidently a lot of microphone feedback, as in people talking to me through my watch hear a significant echo of everything they say. Overall, an excellent watch that I feel is well worth the higher price tag.

From backpacking, to running, to working out, this watch does it all. Instead of asking what this watch can do, the better question is what can it NOT do. The battery life is amazing and the GPS capabilities are unmatched. The AMOLED face is super bright even in the direct sunlight. Definitely not a watch that a beginner would need, but an amazing tool for an avid explorer and athlete!

I had the Epix before and it was a great sports accessory. This does all that and more. The battery life is the most noticeable immediate difference. I use this for everything, although apparently I need to sleep more and I am really out of shape ... lol! This watch will work for any stats geek whilst still being popular with the weekend warrior who likes to smash out activities and track them.
