A: The metal piece should be taken out of the tea kettle. This is used for a electric coil stove top. You may discard it if you have an electric or gas stove top.

A: No, remove the Piece from inside the tea kettle. The Metal piece is for coil stove range tops only or a trivet. You may discard it if not needed.
