I never knew the Artisan mixer bounces around due to the flip head. So i switched to a bowl lift mixer. Much more stable and no more bouncing around. If your gonna make pizza dough get yourself a bowl mixer... i LOVE MY NEW 6qt BOWL MIXER.. It runs Vey Very Quiet!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this mixer when I saw that it was on the outlet for nearly half off. This is an upgrade from the one I have had for 30 years. My old mixer was a Professional 5 model. It has served me well. I wanted a little bigger mixer and this 6-qt stand mixer fits that need. The dough hook is a different style from my old unit in that this hook is a spiral hook and my old one was a "C" hook style. They do knead the dough differently. I was disappointed that the new mixer didn't come with a splatter shield. I liked the one on my old mixer because it was in two pieces which made it easier to put on and remove without lowering the bowl. I have made a batch of cookies and they turned out great. I haven't had the opportunity to use the whisk attachment yet. There will have to be an angel food cake in my future.

I have this mixer and have for years. I use it almost every day to make pizza dough. The one complaint I have is that there must be a loose wire inside or poor connection - it doesn't always go on in the moment I flip the switch. Sometimes it takes a minute, sometimes I have to smack the top of the mixer to get it to go. Sometimes I give up and walk away and will hear it start. So one star off for that. I have never had to completely abort the mission of whatever I was baking - just wait a little. Otherwise great- love the dough hook and cookie dough paddle attachments

Pasta making is something new to me but for everything so far this mixer is making it easier and possible.

This is my first time using a mixer and I'm never going back to hand mixing. It's so delightful. I have only used it to mix dough so far, but I like that you can add different attachments to do other things too.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had the smaller Artisan and found that the bowl was too small for double batches of cookies and when I made a double batch of bread dough it struggled to mix and knead it. This one does the trick most excellently. It shredded 2 large chicken breasts easily. It has the power to do anything I need it to do and the 7-qt bowl is just the right size for my needs. The only downsides to this appliance is that it is super heavy and difficult to move from a back corner of my counter to the front for use. Also, because the head doesn’t tilt back it’s awkward to get the mixer accessories on the head with the bowl in place; and you must have the bowl in place because otherwise you have to tilt the bowl too much to get it in place with the mixer accessory already installed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a 4.5 quart model before and upgraded to the 6. It's a workhorse. All of my old motor attachments fit fine. The included attachments were fine except for the beater. I upgraded to a silicone bladed one. I've used it twice already and mainly plan on using it for making dough. I took off one star when using this for the second time, the screw holding the small plate that locks in the bowl came loose. Luckily I found it and tightened it back in but it left me feeling slightly uneasy. Whatever, this has a good enough warranty and the motor is solid.
