Works well with my 9ft. umbrella
It has blown over a couple of times, but these were some serious rainstorms. My other 9ft. umbrella that came from a fancy department store blows over all the time. Sure, you can buy the base that is twice as heavy/expensive, but then it won't be as mobile. At this price point I couldn't be happier. If we introduce another umbrella by the pool, this base will be purchased again.

Great customer service!
I ordered a patio umbrella, but did not get to assemble it until August. When the box was finally opened, one of the pieces was bent. I called DC America to order a replacement pole and fully expected to pay for it due to my delay in opening the box. DC America replaced the dented piece of the base immediately. Josh from DC America could not have been more responsive! Thanks!!

This is a great umbrella base. Comes with tube piece that holds umbrella with various sizes for sturdiness. Ordered this particular one because of it’s weight and diameter to best serve purpose.

No issues freestanding
I was concerned because of the reviews stating that it could not be used as a freestanding umbrella holder. That is exactly how I have been using it with absolutely no issues. Obviously I don't have the umbrella open during heavy winds. Maybe people don't understand that part.

Couldn’t find a patio stand at Lowe’s or Home Depot. Garden centers were selling them for $200 or more! I was ready for a DIY solution using a bag of sand. Didn’t think of walmart because of shipping weight. Tried walmart anyway and bought this. Very surprised at weight, quality of hardware, and instructions. Excellent product. Why someone would pay over $50 for patio umbrella stand is beyond me.

Nice looking but too light to be practical.
This is an attractive base but unfortunately not heavy enough to hold a full-size umbrella without tipping even in modest breezes (with the umbrella down; with the umbrella up, it is good only in still air.) I could recommend it only for a sheltered courtyard, not for an open patio.

Right weight to stabilize my 9ft patio umbrella
The gentle yet strong grip on the umbrella pole has proven an asset. When the heavy winds come to shake up the umbrella it stays fast whereas my old umbrella's base wouldn't and the umbrella would be flying out of the base. Reason for which I bought this base.
