As you likely already know, hair can feel dirty, oily, or greasy if the product used is more moisturizing than what is needed for your hair’s texture or condition. We would recommend using a less moisturizing shampoo and on occasion using a clarifying shampoo to remove product buildup to restore hair cleanliness. We’d also like to let you know that none of our products can cause dandruff or make it worse. Some things that can cause dandruff are changes in diet, hormonal changes, stress, and changing your hairstyle without changing your shampoo. Also, a flaky, itchy scalp may not always be dandruff. Flaking could be residue from a build-up of hairsprays or other grooming products. If you have a dry, itchy, flaking scalp that does not improve after using anti-dandruff shampoo/conditioner for six weeks you should speak to your doctor.
