Melissa & Doug Mine to Love 12" Baby Doll - Gabrielle with Romper and Hat

This doll is wonderful , the durable cloth body , which is surface washable makes it perfect for toddlers to drag around and love or older children . I have dressed and donated this doll to the Christmas charity campaign for several years . The doll’s gentle features and closeups eyes make it so real and she smells like vanilla, a real baby doll.

My son got this doll for Christmas and he loves playing with it!

This doll is a perfect size for the 18-month old. She (Gabrielle) is sturdy and takes being dropped on the floor, and squeezed, and all the things that the little one has done with her so far. Of course, the toddler likes the box as much as the toy, and it, too, is sturdy. So far the only problem is that we should maybe have bought two: one for her house and one for this grandparent household! Oh, and it's nice that the hat is attached, so it can't get lost.

I bought this for my great-granddaughter, who is half African American and half mixed European. Her skin is quite fair. The picture of this doll showed much fairer skin than the doll we received. I'm sure she didn't notice but I was hoping for a skin tone a bit closer to hers, as shown in the picture.

My great niece has had this doll " Lucy " for 5 years . This little doll is very durable and washable just as the instructions say . Thank you for continuing to provide good quality products for children .

Baby Gabrielle is lovely. My one year old immediately grabbed her as soon as I cut her loose from the box! I like that she comes with a paci and that the hat is removable (some of her dolls have permanent headwear). However, I feel that your website gives false representation of baby Gabrielle. I was actually pleasantly surprised at how dark her skin is, for I was thinking she was lighter like the add suggests. Like I said, I like her skin, but I think it's a bit shameful on your advertising's part for lightening her skin in the website photos (and the photo on the back of the box). I don't know if it's a personal preference for your company, but I find it offensive to advertise a lighter baby when you should be advertising the baby just as she is. I know this is just a baby doll and it's "not that serious" but I think with all of the racial bias that occurs on a daily basis, this isn't something to be looked over. I hope you take this critique seriously and rethink your marketing strategy. Thank you.
