Q: When pouring this into a bottle for feeding after removing from the fridge do I warm the bottle? Wait for it to turn room temperature? or can I give it directly to baby?

  • A: Generally you don't have to warm the bottle because a lot of babies like it at room temperature or a little cooler. If you want to warm the bottle, place it in a bowl of warm water or hold it under warm tap water. Shake the bottle gently and then test the temp, making sure it's warm and not hot. Don't ever heat the bottle in a microwave because the formula can get hot really fast and burn your baby's mouth. Hope this helps! -The Similac Team

Q: How long is it good for once refrigerated?

  • A: Once the 32 fl oz bottle has been opened, it should be recapped and placed in the refrigerator and used within 3 days (as stated on the label). Once you pour the formula into individual feeding bottles, the storage time changes to 48 hours. We recommend a shortened time when the opened, poured product is prepared in to a typical home environment, which is not sterile. Hope this helps! - The Similac Team

    This formula was recommended to be use by our pediatrician as my daughter was born 6 weeks early. She did has issue around 5 week mark with gas but was told that’s normal by our pediatrician. Now almost 4 month she has again an appropriate amount of weight based on her age with this formula. No more gas issue either!!

    Wonderful formula

    My granddaughter was 6 weeks premature. Her pediatrician put her on this formula and she has done so well. She has gained weight on a great schedule and is healthy and happy!

    Good for weight gain.

    Preemie born 3lbs was gaining 1oz a day with this milk amazing! Ended up gaining 10 lbs in 4 months. The only downfall is that my babies belly doesn’t tolerate this formula well. Very gassy, fuzzy, would cry bad reflux

    Satisfied

    The NICU started my baby on this formula. I wanted to switch to a cheaper competitor, but two pediatricians advised to stick with Similac Neosure because my baby was doing so well on it and doubled his weight! He does seem to have a lot of gas, but I will live with it since we are relieved to hear that has grown so much and went from the 27 percentile to 49 percentile for his age group.

    Life savor

    Not sure why it has such bad reviews, this was a game changer for me. Baby was 5percentile for the first 2 months, after using this for 3 months he went up to 25 percentile. I switched to another type cuz it kept running out and my baby dropped back to 10 percentile within 1 month. Hence, I’m back this and will stock as much as I can

    Great for weight gain!

    my daughter was born at 37 weeks and while I was exclusively breastfeeding she wasn't gaining weight and was admitted to the hospital. Her pediatrician recommended a higher calorie formula and this one has helped so much while I alternate it into her feedings. Wish they had the 2oz or a 6oz mini bottles for on the go!

    Just nooooooo....

    This formula is terrible. Made my baby super gassy and constipated. She was miserable. Do not recommend. Cheap manufactured crap.

    Happy Preemie!

    Baby was born at 35 weeks & was in NICU for 5 weeks. PROS: Neosure RTF was best (compared to the powder) & no side effects. Gas & constipation are normal - as pediatrician says- b/c the preemie digestive system is developing, not due to the formula. Gas listed a few days. I switched to a preemie nipple, slightly warmed the bottle & gas was gone. Five months later, baby is exclusively on Neosure, & is growing well. CONS: It sells out frequently. Also I wish Neosure came in RTF 8oz size!

    What my baby needs

    I know its what my baby needs and it has all the extra nutrients and calories my 29 weeker needs, but it does cause tummy discomfort and constipation. My nicu said it’s the best preemie formula if you need it.

    Baby felt terrible

    Was recommended to switch this as little one was born at 5lbs/37 weeks. Baby was miserable and stopped pooping. Constantly passing smelly gas, red face, arching back and constipation. Only used for 4 days when 5 days old. We are almost 2 weeks old and wish I could provide relief instantly.

    My baby was born at 31 weeks. He was in the NICU for 30+ days. To be sent home with this and watch the pain he was in broke my heart. The amount of gas he had and couldn’t poop was sad. I took him off myself. He’s on a different brand and DOING well. Neosure is the devil…..please go back to the drawing board with this one.
