Q: Does this act as a hydrating moisturizer, as in I could apply this after cleansing? If not, are there any mineral based products that hydrate, contains spf 30 (or above), and doesn’t leave white marks (unless it fades) for my skin?

I think that this is typically for sun protection rather than moisturizing. or, you could use the Purito comfy water sun block SPF 50 for $15. I've heard really good reviews on it, it is fragrance-free and super lightweight, matte and doesn't leave white cast :)

I don't usually leave reviews but this is one of the worst cosmetic products i have tried. I'm surprised they are even selling it. It leaves you white as a ghost in a very obvious and unfortunate way. The product is sticky and pills up on your face easily. Nasty stuff - maybe others will have better luck.

I don’t mind the white cast, I like how thick the formula is but it PILLS on my face. Sadly, I tried this on my neck and it does the same thing. I hate waisting products so I will use this on my body next time I’m at the beach.

This sunscreen is terrible. It doesn’t blend into your skin at all. It leaves a thick white layer that never blends in at all, it’s so bad you cannot even wear it in public. How is this allowed to be marketed. Now I have to fight to get my money refunded for this unusable sunscreen.

I am unable to use chemical sunscreen because it irritates my eyes, so mineral sunscreen is the only option for my face. Yes, the mineral formula is a bit thick but if you spread it evenly, white cast is diminished. I found CeraVe Mineral Sunscreen works the best for me and I've tried them all.

If I could give this a minus star I would. I just used both CERAVE face and body sunscreen. It was just opened. As carefully as I applied it, it nonetheless stained my clothes and would not even wash off my skin easily. None of the remedies have helped and are very time-consuming. This product should not be allowed on the Market. It does not even offer a warning. I will be filing complaints and finding places for neutral reviews. And I will spread the word to my friends, family and, when appropriate, clients.

I wanted to like this because I need a high spf sunscreen for my face. I also have very dry skin. I do not find this to be hydrating at all. It’s kind of sticky and it takes a lot of effort to rub it in. I get that zinc oxide causes this but other zinc sunscreens I’ve tried rub in much more easily. The white caste is there; but I’m super pale so it’s tolerable. If it were more hydrating, I might like it. I have to layer over my other moisturizers. Please work on this formula, Cerave!

I will start off by saying that the CeraVe face SPF50 leaves a white cast. I have a very oily conplexion & this formula feels greasy, dirty & heavy on my skin. It also makes my face produce a ton of oil. Esp. after a couple hours. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone who has a darker complexion and/or has oily skin.

Personally, this wasn’t my favorite. I feel that it left a white cast no matter how long it sat on my skin. It was on the thinner side but felt like I was wearing a heavy lotion. The scent wasn’t my favorite either but just was your typical sunscreen scent. I would have to open it upside down otherwise it would spill out of the packaging.

Great product that is not too greasy after applying. There is some shine to it, but nothing that was bothersome. There was not a white cast for me, but I also have white skin. Scent is normal for a sunscreen, and it seemed to work as I did not burn after wearing this product.

This sunscreen is excellent. It goes on light and does not feel greasy. I like that it is mineral sunscreen so that it is safer for reefs and contains less chemicals that may be harsh for my skin.

I’ve been using CeraVe Hydrating Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 Face Lotion for a few weeks now, and overall, it’s a solid choice for daily sun protection. The formula is gentle and fragrance-free, making it suitable for my sensitive skin. It contains ceramides and niacinamide, which help maintain my skin’s barrier and keep it hydrated throughout the day. One downside is the noticeable white cast upon application, which is common with mineral sunscreens. However, with thorough blending, it becomes less apparent. The lotion feels a bit thick initially but settles nicely without leaving a greasy residue.  I appreciate that it’s non-comedogenic and doesn’t clog my pores, which is a big plus for acne-prone skin like mine. It’s also broad-spectrum, providing protection against both UVA and UVB rays.

Trying out the CeraVe Hydrating Mineral Sunscreen in both Light and Medium shades — applied Light on one half of my face and Medium on the other. The texture is super lightweight, blends easily, and feels like nothing on the skin. You can definitely see a difference in tone — Light gives a soft, bright finish, while Medium adds a bit more warmth. Both shades look natural and non-greasy. Great option if you’re looking for a tinted SPF that feels like skincare!

The product will keep you from getting sunburned, but it leaves an ugly white residue that absolutely will not go away no matter how much you try to massage it into your skin. I've had on for several hours and it still looked white on my face. It's only good to mow the lawn when no one will see you. Or I suppose you could use at Halloween to look like a ghost. I should probably throw away, but it was too expensive.
