It helps add style to any living room seating. The jute isn't something that is comfortable to lay on so this pillow seems more for just looks.

Visually it is slightly appealing if you had a beach house or put it outside on a porch or patio, but it is strictly an aesthetic piece, not a functional or comfort pillow. The material is extremely coarse, like a jute or twine, and is very hard, as well as being very heavy. I could see past these factors and stick it on a chair as a decorative piece, but I cannot get over the odor of this pillow. The closest thing I can think of to describe it would be seaweed. Not pleasant unfortunately.
