  • A: Thanks for your question! Land O Lakes® Butter with Olive Oil and Sea Salt is made with butter that has olive oil added to it to make it smooth and creamy right out of the refrigerator. Our Whipped Butter is butter that has air whipped into it and, much like stick butter, needs to soften on the counter for about 20 minutes before spreading on bread. We hope this helps!

Not spreadable when cold

We use this quality product exclusively, but there was a simple learning curb. When starting our first cup of coffee in the morning, our next move is for one of use to remove from the refridgerator, pop the lid off and let it stand for about 20 minutes 'minimum.' This is because it is NOT spreadable right out of the fridge. I purchased a couple of Japanese butter knives and they really help speed things up if you're in a hurry.

Good Taste But No Longer Spreadable?

I have been using this olive oil and sea salt spreadable butter for years. Now it doesn't seem to be spreadable. Softer than if it was a stick butter. But it just doesn't spread, except on warm toast. Before this apparently new softer-than-hard butter version, I would have given it more than 5 stars. I just noticed my new container no longer says "Spreadable". Sadly my 3 star review means the taste is still good, but I will be searching for another kind of actually spreadable butter.

Terrific taste!

I use this spread any time I need butter, in any and all recipes! A special treat is L o L spread on toasted Publix five grain Italian bread. It is as tasty as eating a pastry.

By far the best spreadable butter out there on the market. It easily spread on breads and has a nice salty flavor. We have tried other brands but always return back to this particular one!

Mold!

This is my second tub and it gets moldy! It’s kept refrigerated. I’m not sure why it gets moldy, but I’m very disappointed in this.

Great Butter!!

I really do love your butter, olive oil, but as some others have said, why is your 21 oz size not available everywhere? Make even a bigger size 32 oz!

Larger size unavailable in my area?

I love this butter with olive oil and sea salt but I’m disappointed I can only find it in 13 oz size, which costs almost as much as the larger size butter with canola oil product. As most of us health-conscious, we prefer to avoid seed oils such as canola and use the healthier olive oil. I will continue to buy it in the smaller size because I am more concerned with the health benefits, but I would appreciate if Land O Lakes could make a larger size available everywhere.

The one and only!

Aside from butter in stick form, this is the only other butter my family uses. We've tried other brands of spreadable Butter and Olive Oil, but they taste like margarine. It seems this cannot be duped! We really love the flavor and consistency and not having to wait for it to reach room temperature to spread. We buy multiple tubs at a time.
