Bitter Aftertaste

I really wanted to like this one because I'm a fan of millet, sorghum and rice flour, but something is weird with this blend. I have used it twice now in a yeast bread recipe and both times the bread came out very bitter. If it were less expensive I'd try it in some cookies or something else, but I think I'll cut my losses. Do not recommend.

The GOOD: It’s GF. However, ever since my Celiac diagnosis and eating GF my bowels are very loose. After using this particular mix of flour, I get very binded for days. It happens only when I use this specific GF flour. Not sure if it’s the millet flour in it but this doesn’t happen with the other brands I usually buy.
Had a bad taste.

Had a bad aftertaste and didn't hold together well. The aftertaste was very pronounced and unpleasant. I wouldn't use in anything where the flour was a primary ingredient again.
Doesnt compare to Bob's Red Mill 1 to 1

GF bakers beware. This unfortunately doesn’t compare to any other 1 to 1 blends out there. It left my blondies recipe crumbly and disappointing. The main ingredient is sorghum flour, and the binder - xanthan gum - is last. It did not bind well at all. Bob’s Red Mill remains my gold standard even though it costs more. The main ingredient in that 1 to 1 GF AP flour is sweet rice flour, which has a gumminess to help everything bind. It just works better.

I bake GF bread in my bread maker. I bought this flour because it was cheaper than the GF flour that I normally used. After I baked the bread, I let it cool. I started to cut it, and it was very dry and crumbly. I froze the slices that I cut. I put 2 pieces in the toaster, and the bread just fell apart in the toaster. Doesn't even hold up.
Okay choice

Target was out of King Arthur and every other GF flour so I bought this to use in my homemade GF pizza dough. The flavor of the finished crust was just not good at all, almost like I was eating raw dough (and it's my tried and trusted recipe- it's amazing with King Arthur!). The texture was a lot more crumbly than normal. I wouldn't buy again, not unless I was using it in a situation where I thought other flavors might overpower the taste of this flour.
So good!!

My littlest was just diagnosed with a gluten allergy, and we’ve been on the hunt for products to make the transition as smooth as possible. This flour is fabulous! We have been baking up a storm, and the whole family agrees the baked goods made using this flour taste amazing.
Best GF blend on the Market

These negative reviews are very strange and make me wonder if any of those people are actually regular gluten-free bakers. This is hands down thee best GF blend on the market, and I have tried them all. The fact that you can get this at Target, and at such a great price is actually incredible. Please don't be put off by all the (strange) negative reviews. If you are actually a GF baker, this mix is great, and I use it all the time for my baking needs. No weird texture, or flavor.

Why does it taste and smell so bad?! Ruined my brownies, not even all of the sugar and chocolate could cover up the smell and flavor of the flour. Yuck.

Bought this because (surprise surprise) Target was out of Cup4Cup. This stuff is horrible. Main ingredient is millet which will give your food a dry-tasting end product.
Simply dreadful

The texture and flavor are absolutely disgusting and it has an even worse after-taste. Do yourself a favor and skip this product.

Tried this and Bob’s Mill. This one made horrible cookies. Was hoping to continue to use it but the Bob’s brand was 100% better

this flour tastes like Play-Doh. it's a nice texture, but it smells bad and tastes super bitter I've tried using it plenty of times. when trying to cook with it to thicken sauce it is hydrophobic and turned into blobs even when whisked it didn't dissolve. When baking it leaves a nasty bitter aftertaste that won't go away no matter how much suger.

Really terrible taste. I’ve had plenty of gluten free baked goods and this flour was the right texture but the taste overpowered everything. It had a play dough/artificial taste. Just awful.

I tried the Banana Muffin recipe on the back of the bag. Nothing near a banana flavor and was extremely dry. Maybe another banana, egg or buttermilk might improve the results. Sorry I wasted the majority of the product on something so disappointing.

Used for making oatmeal raisin cookies. Used slightly less flour than the recipe called for they turned out fine. Couldn’t tell they were gluten free! Good for the price, however is smaller quantity than most GF flours
