    Burns in dryer

    I love this blanket as far as thickness and softness, as do my daughter and her friends. However, every single time I dry it - on LOW heat - it literally burns the blanket. First time it happened I thought I must have dried on high heat, so I spent hours picking off all the crunchy black specs, and then started making sure sure sure to dry on low heat. Unfortunately it still comes out of the dryer burnt. I’d say it’s my dryer but no other blankets or items come out burnt. I just ordered a different brand blanket and will sadly be tossing this king sized one. ☹️

    I’m writing a review to share what I’ve learned. After ruining several blankets and throws, I finally realized the fabric softener was the culprit. I wash with detergent only. Delicate cycle. Cold water. I don’t use any kind of fabric softener or scent beads. Problem solved for me.

    I have purchased maybe 6 or 7 of these blankets over the years. After maybe 5 years, they do start to lose their softness but that is with weekly washings. The ones I have that aren't used daily on beds are still in perfect soft condition. I think the people saying that the blankets pill, are washing with hot water, on an aggressive wash cycle, using too much detergent, and/or drying too long on high heat. I love these blankets and brand. Very soft without making you hot.
