Description

Kidney Health Feline Bite-Sized Chews help maintain proper kidney function by supporting renal circulation, normal fluid retention, normal detoxification, stress management, homocysteine balance, and kidney and liver function. The inclusion of astragalus root powder supports kidney circulation and immune function, while the Chinese herb rehmannia supports kidney and liver function, and is known as the "kidney’s own food." Other ingredients like vitamins B1 and B2 support metabolic activity, including the metabolism of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates, supporting proper energy production. Folic acid, DMG, B12 and B6 help support methylation and sulfuration pathways, while minerals like potassium are important for water balance. B vitamins are water soluble and not properly recycled during times of kidney stress or dysfunction; therefore, supplementation may be required.

    Cats will no longer eat the kidney health chews

    We have been administering the renal essentials for many years with no issues. Along with now being rebranded as kidney health, they decided to incorporate a one-way valve in the bag. This does not work as designed and is defective from the first newly designed bags we purchased. It leaks room air into the bag and the chews are now hard and stale upon first opening. Our many cats used to beg for them as 'treats" now no one will even touch them.

    Cat won't touch

    I had ordered Vetri Lysine Plus for my cat elsewhere, and she liked those chews fine. I figured I'd buy the Renal Essentials chews for her to see if she'd like them. She won't touch them. By no means do I blame the product or company, but I'm disappointed that she won't eat these chews.

    My cat loves it

    This was delivered today and my cat was so excited to eat them. She hasn't had any "treats" in a while because she is diabetic. Now that her kidneys are failing I am glad she likes these chews.

    Great for older cat with kidney issues.

    This is an honest review as an employee of FoodScience. I have a senior cat with kidney issues, so I wanted to try this product. My vet approved the product for his kidney health, which was reassuring. He had some teeth removed but was able to eat the treats easily.

    I feel good that I'm supporting their kidneys

    This is an honest review as an employee of FoodScience. I bought these for some cats that I help to take care of. While they get lots of attention and love, they are working cats so aren't in the regular pet home environment. Because of that + the fact that they eat dry food more often than wet food, I wanted something that could help support their kidneys. I like that this product has a lot of really good active ingredients and is clearly made specifically for cats. These chews are a little firmer than other cat supplement treats but they're still soft enough to be chewed right up. The Orange cat gobbled them up, I had to crumble them into the Gray cat's daily canned food, but it's worth it to make sure they're getting their supplements and staying healthy.

    Need for seasoning

    Cats ate it the first time on its own but then refused. Now I crumble it up and sprinkle it on their food topped with a spoonful of Lil' Soups. Then it disappears. Supplements or prescription foods don't do any good if cats won't eat them so "season" it!

    I will not be purchasing again.

    My cat will sometimes eat these but most of the time he will not. I was giving him Standard Processing tablets that I pulverized and blended into his food. I was hoping this Kidney supplement would be as good because it is about 1/2 the cost, but he is too inconsistent in eating them.

    My Cat Came Around

    My cat wouldn't eat these when I first tried. I had purchased the chewable tablets as well and ended up crushing the tablets I to his food. After a week of that I tried the chews again and he will now eat them so I stopped giving him the tablets.

    This product really works, and the cat loves them!

    My male cat was diagnosed with renal disfunction and bladder stones about 8 years ago. I have been using this product (his little fishes) as an appetizer before his meals for the last 8 years. After a few small changes and this product, my cat no longer has bladder disfunction and he hasn't had any more stones. Thanks for such a great product! I will be reordering from your company website.

    Cats not interested

    No issues with the company or product. Both cats did not want to eat. I tried as a suggestion by my vet. I'll donate to local shelter

    Disappointed

    Purchased 3 bags of these renal treats due to regular treats being unavailable. Cat started vomiting almost immediately. Cat is finicky, but vet said stop the treats…just in case. I left four (4) voicemails at company number over the past week, with NO return calls. They may sell you the product, but they don't seem to care once the purchase has been made.
