Q: with that mesh on the bottom, does sand leak out the sides on the bottom? I'm not sure how level our concrete and bricks are in our patio.

    Wouldnt buy again

    Nice size. Liked the idea of the bench seat turning into a cover, but didn’t last long. Screws are small and came out over time bc the wood is so thin. Just going to replace with a plastic one. Got one summers use out of it.

    Weathering well

    Bought this a year ago and it still looks new despite being completely exposed to the elements outside through all four seasons in desert climate (triple digits for almost 6 months of the year). Kids played in it this morning for hours. The only change I notice is the amazing cedar wood smell has now disappeared. I was surprised that the design keeps the inside so clean with barely any leaves or twigs despite being under a deciduous tree. I think the open base allows it to drain in a healthy way too. One of the best gifts of childhood.

    Wont close! Poor quality

    It literally doesn’t close when put together. The directions are incredibly difficult to follow and the measurements of the boards do not line up. Would not recommend, pretty disappointing

    After putting it all together and putting sand in it, it broke and I can’t figure out how to get a new piece without starting a return. I am not taking all the sand out and taking it all apart to return it. Send me a new piece!!

    Nice and easy

    I’m not sure what all the complaints are about. It is real cedar wood, it’s very uncomplicated to put together if you use a screwdriver you won’t strip the screws (cedar is kind of soft). For the price I think it’s a very nice sandbox.

    Don't Bother: Not Real Wood, Hinges Break

    Hinges broke on first use. I replaced them with steal versions and the wood split a day later on two of the doors. The screws do not stay in the wood because it’s a pulp wood, not solid wood like they claim. Use your money toward a better quality product. This is not it.

    Poor assembly.

    Great looking sandbox and the cedar is really quality, but the assembly was poor. Multiple pieces didn’t fit so we had to Jerry-rig in a few places. Also the bench pieces don’t fit to cover the sandbox completely. Overall disappointing purchase.

    Doesn’t hold up to weather

    Disappointed. Had a cracked piece upon receipt. Couldn’t get a replacement piece but was given a discount which was good customer service. Screws don’t stay in. Does not weather well. Looks bad after on year and we even added water sealant to it. Would not recommend.

    Hard to assemble they need to make a video to show you how to make it’s super complicated and the instructions are not clear some pictures show some of parts turned back wards that don’t help will be returning this.

    After some adjustments, it works well!

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The sandbox eventually got our needs and expectations. The directions were able to follow and the wood smells amazing. The size was accurate as well as how it looks. The problem was that after three attempts to close the sandbox, the wood strips on the inside were preventing the sandbox to shut completely. After two different people put it together and it was still unable to shut, I knew it was a product problem and not an issue of following the directions incorrectly. I had to saw the strips off maybe about 1.5”-2” off and then it fit well enough to shut the sandbox.
