Hard to assemble for a short person
As a petite person I found this to be miserable to assemble. I ended up having to buy a rubber mallet and piece of wood to pound the main metal pieces together, after my own weight/strength proved to be not enough. Almost disassembled everything halfway through to return it. The end product is ok, but the shelves are made of cheaper material than I realized (one shelf got chipped during the assembly process - definitely my fault but still disappointing). Overall it will be perfectly functional piece of furniture but not sure it was worth the struggle.

Damaged/Used Parts
The wood looked good, but once I started putting the screws in, I saw that one was damaged/faulty. I had already screwed in a few and thought I could replace the one. The allen wrench also had silver ends but it worked fine at first. However, once there was any tension, the ends of the wrench are too worn down to get a good grip in the screws and now they’re sticking out about one-third to halfway out. I checked all of my personal allen wrenches and none of them fit at all. I usually buy from Ikea and never have problems with assembly. This is my first time buying from this brand

Impossible to construct due to poor tolerances
I was unable to construct this because the four small plates that join the top and bottom of the legs varied wildly from the necessary dimensions. One was slightly too wide to fit in any leg. One was slightly too narrow, fell inside the leg, and was hard to retrieve. One had one badly threaded bolt hole, so I couldn't fasten the leg securely.

Nice but poor quality
First off, this bookshelf is exactly what I was hoping for. Once it's built, it looks as pictured. The shelves themselves are very nice and the posts are sturdy. The issues we had were due to the poor quality metal used in the allen wrench and the screws. We had to use our own equipment because the provided wrench got dull almost immediately. The screws were also made of an inferior metal and easily stripped. It was incredibly difficult for us to put these together so we had to use a lot of our own stuff. Once built, it's fine. I just wish the folks at Costway would include better screws and wrenches in their products.

Disappointing Description
While this is a beautiful piece, the product description states that this is less than 15 inches wide, which is exactly what I needed for my space. Instead, it is almost 10 inches wider than described. A shelf isn’t a piece you can just turn sideways. It’s just very disappointing as this was a Christmas gift.
