Q: will this hold a 9 foot umbrella without a table? in other words is just the base enough to secure a 9 foot umbrella?

  • A: It can hold normally, but if the wind is too strong and other bad weather, it is recommended to put the umbrella away. It is not completely guaranteed not to fall.

We have high winds in our area and this stand is sturdy and secure. Umbrella stays in place. Solid black throughout (other one we had was painted concrete whichchipped off). If you buy on sale it is worth it.

Collar doesn't support post

So upset when a light breeze caused the collar to make the post rock in the support, thus allowing the single set screw to loose grip and off my new umbrella went breaking it. Very disappointed...
