Mr. Coffee 3 Quart Stainless Steel Whistling Tea Kettle

I was happy to find this kettle online, as it seemed to be exactly what i was looking for. However, when it arrived, although the Target webset indicated that it was stainless steel, there was nothing included with the item that said this. Hence, I called "Gibson" at the number indicated in the product info to ask. I was initally told by the representative that the item was stainless, but then she said it was "not rust proof," and that a person has to be "very careful" with it to keep it from rusting. This is rather bizarre for an item that will generally not be kept dry. Not sure if the customer service person at Gibson is correct or not, but I am now planning to return, rather than taking a chance on having a rusty kettle. Note that the poor ratings I assigned are based on the hypothesized use of the item, taking into account what the customer service rep told me, and not based on my actual use.

I had a 3-qt Mr. Coffee tea kettle in red for many years that I loved, but when the red paint on it got chipped, I bought this one to replace it. This one is very noisy - as soon as the gas heat on my stove hits the stainless steel on this kettle, it sounds like an airplane taking off! Also, the stainless steel shows a lot of water marks. The only things that I like better about this kettle compared to my old red one is that this one is very lightweight, and the handle does not get hot.
