Strong Improvement!
We were becoming aware that we were missing a lot of dialogue when watching movies or interviews on our TV. We got this JBL speaker system because we wanted to amplify and clarify the sound. The improvement was immediate and very noticeable. The sound is projected toward the viewers and angled to surround them. Adding the bass allows a much better range in voices as well as music. The quality of sound is clearer and easier to hear and understand.

Lasted only 18 months
Bought exactly 18 months ago. Today, tried turning it on and no power whatsoever. Tried manual power button after changing remote batteries with no luck. It just stopped working. Junk. Save your money.

Thanks for your feedback. Here are some troubleshooting steps that might help isolate the issue with your JBL Bar 2.1 Deep Bass (MK2). First, make sure that the power cord is fully inserted into the power connector on the bar. Next, while it's extremely uncommon, try to use another wall outlet to be certain that the issue is not with the outlet. Lastly, try a different power cable. You can switch the cable from the subwoofer to your soundbar to rule out the possibility that the issue was in the cable. For further assistance, you may contact us.

I'd Stay Away
Soundbar has very tinny sound, no mid-range. Subwoofer over-powers everything. Disabling Smart mode does not help hearing voices at all. Music sounds better if you blast it, but I cannot do that where I live. This product could really use an EQ.

Thank you for your feedback. To isolate the issue with your JBL Bar 2.1 Deep Bass (MK2), please try performing a power cycle. To do this, unplug both the soundbar and the TV. This will reset the devices and clear any temporary issues that might be causing problems. Check your TV's settings and change the digital output audio format to PCM or Dolby Digital. You can refer to your TV manual. If you need more help, please contact us.

Free hdmi free remote battery
I recently brought the JBL 2.1 soundbar with deep bass, and wow, it's just amazing! The sound quality is incredible, especially the bass—it's like having a mini theater right in my living room. The price was really decent for the quality I got, and I’ve been enjoying every moment of it. Whether I’m watching movies or listening to music, it truly enhances the experience. I can't recommend it enough! Absolutely loving it!

horrible dialog volume, no mobile app for custom eq, smart mode does nothing, bit of a joke jbl, shame on you . Tip for other users : use bluetooth mode on your tv, think it skips the surround crap so you can manage to hear someone speaking but you lose a bit of sound quality, not verry noticeable xD

A Piece of Trash That Can’t Handle Human Speech
Avoid this soundbar at all costs. The JBL Bar 2.1 is a deeply flawed piece of trash that fails at the most basic function of a soundbar — reproducing spoken dialogue. While it handles music and background noise without issue, it consistently drops or clips entire words or sentences whenever there’s clear, standalone human speech, such as in documentaries, news, or any dialogue-heavy content. This happens even when the voice is loud and clear, not just during quiet passages. The result? I’m stuck watching shows with subtitles ON — because the soundbar simply refuses to play half the dialogue. I’ve tested this across multiple TV sets, inputs (HDMI ARC and optical), formats, and sources — and the issue is always the same. It’s clearly a design flaw in JBL’s signal detection or audio processing. There are no settings to fix it. No firmware update resolves it. And JBL support has nothing to offer except useless suggestions to switch cables — which changes nothing. This is not a minor inconvenience. This is a crippling flaw that makes the product literally unfit for its advertised purpose. Unless you’re only interested in hearing explosions or background scores, this soundbar will leave you guessing what people actually said. A soundbar that can’t play voices is not a soundbar — it’s just a broken speaker in a fancy box. Absolute garbage.

Would not buy
JBL 2.1 Deep Bass soundbar. Just stopped working after 2 years. Actual sound bar will not power on. Not used very much and was installed by geek squad. So no user error with installation. Of course the warranty is only good for a year.

Good for only music
The sound bar is good for listening to music but the sound stage could have been better comparing the price. Watching movies is very bad experience, the dialogues while decoding dolby digital format is very low vocal and blasted background noise which is annoying. Would not recommend at this price.
