The grill paint came off on first use. After several uses, the grill temperature was way off and food placed on the grill at the same time and temperarture came out both over and under grilled.

This is a decent little grill. I keep it in my RV. It folds up fairly small and is lightweight. One thing to note: if there is ANY wind, turn the front of the grill into the wind (wind at your back when you are facing the grill). The grill has a lot of ventilation on the back and sides, so if you turn it the wrong way it can be hard to get much heat. Besides, you would rather be upwind of your grill, right? When done that way, it puts out plenty of heat. The surface area is large enough to cook for 4 people. Maybe more, but that's all I've done. Does it discolor? Well, yes. It's not very thick metal, which helps keep the weight down. But it's sturdy enough to cook your food. I've had it for months and used it maybe a dozen times with no problems.
