  • A: Hello Debbie, the Winix A230 is great is for removing pet hair, dander and odors. The unit is equipped with an all in one filter. The pre filter will capture the hair and dander, the carbon filter any odors and the true HEPA will remove fine particles, as small as .3 microns.

wrong color model

The items works well, but I was sent A231 which is the white model not the black A230, despite the photos/description/receipt only showing black/A230. It works fine as it’s the same otherwise of course, but unfortunately I did want a specific color in this instance.

Vibrates and Rumbles

This is a very basic and fairly ineffective unit. It also vibrates the table that it's sitting on, as if the motor inside isn't mounted correctly. I have had numerous different Winix air purifier models, and they all had some sort of quality control issue. Actually, one was perfect. Just one. Out of multiples.

Bought new but i think it was used.

Purchased item on August 23 and Target originally stated it would arrive on August 27-28. However it did not ship until after that date and finally arrived on September 4th. Box had been opened and re-sealed. No packing materials inside the box. No instruction manual or warranty sheet. Filter was bent. I get the feeling that it may have been used and returned and nobody bothered to check the packaging to make sure everything inside was in like-new condition or that stuff wasn’t missing.

Second purchase

This is the 2nd Winix purifier that I have purchased. I have on at my Salon and one at home. It is extremely quiet. It does an amazing job of cleaning the air. I have several cats and it does wonders with the controlling the dander. I recommend this brand to anyone that needs a GOOD Air purifier.

Seems like a good unit but this model does NOT have wifi or app capability. I recently purchased another larger model and love the wifi/app capability and just assumed all the models have it but that is not the case.
