We’ve cooked most of our breakfast on this pan and we love how even the heat is distributed. We can tell because of how our food comes out and we didn’t have to deal with over blackened part of food we cooked. It also very easy to clean and maintain and the size of the pan makes it very versatile to many things we can cook while camping. We aim for less time cleaning and cooking while camping and this one just fits that goal, so we’re very happy with that.

We haven’t used it for a casserole yet, but it’s definitely on our list. It was easy to season and is a good sturdy cast iron.

I’ll admit that cast iron can be intimidating but the fact that this comes pre seasoned belayed any fears going forward; I literally took this out of the box, rinsed it and used it with no issues. The pan itself feels solid but not too heavy which is nice. My only complaint is that it arrived with some what I can only assume was packing glue or something that was on the side of the pan. It washed off with a scouring pad but it was just a pain in the butt. Overall a great find.

Both just don't work well in my traditional round cast iron pan. The depth and durability here really helped me get the right crisp on those potatoes and solid completion on a reverse seer for those steaks. That said, I can see how this will be really awesome for my grandma's cobbler recipe and my dad's dump cake. I'm not sure how the meat seasoning will affect those sweeter flavors, but I bet it will be an added bonus.
