Did not work
This is the first year I have tried this product. I have used separate seed and fertilizers in the past, but was trying to save a buck by buying the combo here. Well this product did not work. I do not believe I had a single blade of grass grow. I scalped my yard, aerated, and then applied this product as prescribed. Watered daily and still nothing after 2 weeks. Safe to say I will resort back to separate seed and fertilizer that I have used in the past.

Life added to my dull lawn!

Following the directions planted the seeds and with in 2 week I saw some serious high quality grass growth.i plan on buying more and have suggested people buy this brand and seeds for great grass.

Great Seed Mix for Filling in Grass
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had numerous patches of dirt in our yard and we recently used the Pennington Smart Seed Northeast Grass Mix to fill the spots in. The weather hasn't been the greatest for putting down seed but we also tried planting a bit in a cup to see how it grew with my daughter and because we left that inside in the window it grew beautifully. I can see the grass starting to grow in the yard and I know I'll be super happy with it once the growing weather is better! I am very happy I receive this sample in exchange for this review.

Effective grass seed for northeast lawns!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had the chance to try the pennington smart seed northeast grass mix as part of a campaign, and i received the product for free in exchange for my honest review. After using it and seeing the results over a few weeks, Id say my experience has been mixed but overall positive. The application process was simple and the instructions were easy to follow. I liked that it was designed for the Northeast region, which gave me hope for better performance tailored to my climate. I did notice some grass starting to grow after a couple of weeks although the coverage was uneven. That could all be user error though. The areas that filled in looked healthy and green. I feel like with more watering and time the results will improve. I would recommend this grass seed to friends and family,

Great Results Thus Far

Quick growing, hearty grass awaits!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thank you Pennington for providing me with a bag of your Smart Seed Northeast Mixture to sample! Our yard took quite a hit with the harsh Northeast winter we experienced. We had large patches of dead grass that were just looking terrible. We put down this smart seed on a Sunday in May, and a week and a half later the grass has all come up and is thick and hearty! It's a beautiful shade of green and filled in the sad looking patches in the yard beautifully. We are very happy with how quickly the grass came up, and how lovely it is.

Grass hasn't sprouted yet, user error?
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We planted Pennington grass seed a little over a month ago, but so far, we haven't seen any sprouts. That said, it's possible the issue is on our end-maybe we didn't water it as consistently as we should have. We're going to keep trying and hope it still comes in with more time and care.

So easy & so beautiful
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have never done any lawn maintenance before and this was a breeze. I did some research about our grass type to make sure it matched, received the product, sprinkled the seeds, and waited patiently for everything to grow. The lawn looks great and I am so happy I did not pay an arm and a leg to fix the patches!

Great Results with a Little Patience
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the Pennington Smart Seed Northeast Grass Seed and Fertilizer Mix to patch up some bare spots and thin areas in my yard this spring, and overall I'm really happy with how it turned out. The seed started sprouting in about 7-10 days, and after a few weeks, I noticed the grass filling in nicely. It looks green, healthy, and blends well with my existing lawn. The built-in fertilizer is a nice bonus it definitely helped kickstart growth without having to buy a separate product. I also like that it's made for the Northeast climate, which seems to make a difference with all the weird weather we get. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a solid all-in-one seed and fertilizer mix!

Fantastic
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After the winter and some damaging utility work, we had some areas where the grass was space. This spring I threw this seed mix down, under a giant oak tree, and didn't do anything special to protect it, or help it thrive. I am pleasantly surprised to report the grass has taken very well, and it appears it will soon fully cover the bare spots. I love that there are 3 types of seed that should further flourish based on the growing conditions (sunny/shady/wet/dry). Definitely recommend this seed mix for upstate NY where lawns should be relatively care free.

It was so hot yet once we had three days of rain in a row the rest started to come up quickly. I think I would definitely try this again and put it down right before I knew it was going to rain. Definitely needs a good soaking.

Excellent Seed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We received the seed as a free sample and had to wait a little to plant as we are in zone 5.We laid the seed under a layer of straw and very quickly saw the grass begin to grow. The shade of green is very appealing and the grass is healthy. We planted in an area of our front lawn that did not weather well over the long NY winter. Very happy with the results.

I would buy this again
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a nasty bald spot that I've been trying to repair for two seasons with no luck. I loosened the soil and mixed the Pennington seed with some fresh soil and surprisingly it has started to come up. What is not good is the Sq.Ft coverage they print on the package. There is no way that the bag I used would cover what they claimed. Especially for overseeding.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had a patch of dirt from where we'd removed a tree a year prior. We had tried unsuccessfully to grow grass, these seeds really worked over the few weeks we have tried it so far. Hopefully in the next month we will have a complete covered area.
