Q: A lot of people have complained that there is a burnt chemical smell after washing but I also see more reviews of people not complaining of that. Should I be worried does it have a burning smell?

    I was trying to replace a set of Casaluna sheets I’ve had for two years and LOVE. These were the closest match and are much cheaper quality, a different “teal”, and just generally disappointing. However, of course the price was the same. Also had an issue shipping when they didn’t show up for a month and had to reorder.

    Cooling, Silky, and Lovely Sheets

    These sheets! My boyfriend and I are both in love with them. I literally woke up the next morning after sleeping on them for the first time and immediately reached for my phone to order another set. They are incredibly soft and silky, and actually do keep you cool throughout the night. Because they’re new, I can’t speak to the longevity or staining issues mentioned by some other reviewers, but I do hope that they last. They also have a one year guarantee (from purchase date), which I find very reasonable; because if any issues were to arise, I imagine they would do so in that time period. One other reviewer mentioned that the flat sheet is quite wide, and this is true in my experience as well, but I prefer more to less in this aspect, so I’m not too bothered. For reference, this review is for the light teal blue set in queen, and the color is dreamy and quite lovely.

    Disappointed by quality

    I received these as a gift on my wedding registry. One year later and have terrible rips almost 12” long from basic wear and tear. I asked to return/ replace them for in store credit and Target wasn’t willing to help. I think this is not normal for this amount of time and typical use.

    Stains easily

    These are so soft but my husband runs hot and sweats mildly at night and it stained the sheets! I can’t believe it. Even with a thorough wash with stain treatment there’s a perfect dark spot just my husbands size! I’ve never had sheets do this!

    Perfect sheets

    I absolutely love these sheets. They are so soft. Somehow they are both warm but cooling. I also love that they have the extra length/grip in the corners so the fitted sheet won’t come off the corners when I use my adjustable bed frame. I got the ivory color and it’s a perfect neutral to go with the muted browns and creams I have on my bed.

    Super soft and cozy, but after only two washes they already look years old. The fabric shows every wrinkle and has uneven fading. I have the dark blue color, which probably makes it even more noticeable. Disappointed given how great they felt at first.

    These sheets are incredibly comfortable and seemed great when I opened them out of the packaging however, after one wash there was an extremely strong chemical smell. I left them outside for the night and then washed again and the smell got more intensified. While they are incredibly soft, I would not recommend buying them. I also believe that the smell got into my dryer somehow and now every load that I dry has the faint chemical smell that was originally on the sheets. I have probably washed 30 loads in my dryer and I cannot get the smell out of my clothes. I would not buy.

    Poor Quality & Strange Smell

    The sheets have a strange smell to them even after you wash them. The quality of them is poor. We purchased these in July and by February there was a hole in the sheets that we cannot figure out it happened. Definitely wouldn’t spend $100 on them again.

    Best sheets ever!

    I love these sheets! They are so cooling and comfy. I have them in the ivory and olive green color. I will probably get them in another color too! The only down side is the price. But all bamboo sheets are expensive. They are actually less expensive than many other brands.

    Horrible odor

    Do not buy these sheets! I wish I had read the reviews before I bought them in store. I was looking to replace my favorite bamboo sheets when I found these in store. Once I got these sheets home and washed them, the odor was unbearable. I have washed them 3 times, using detergent and vinegar. There is a strange burnt rubber/chemical smell that won't go away. It gets worse when the sheets are wet. My entire laundry room reeked of whatever this smell is lingering in these sheets. I am so angry that I paid $120 for sheets that are completely unusable. I did try sleeping on them...hoping the smell would dissipate. All it did was make my comforter stink as well! I've seen multiple reviews stating there is an odor with these sheets. I think it is time for Target and Casaluna to investigate why this may be. But for now, I have just lost $120.
