Poor design do not buy
“Upgraded” from the previous model and bitterly disappointed. When litter is filled as per the instructions and fill level, the grill wastes a lot of littler as it pushes the waste into the bin. When the grill attempts to return to the start point, it pushes the littler and condenses it against the starting point. This blocks the sensor, causing it to return to the bin and back again. This process goes on and on. The grill often stops in the middle of the tray while it struggles to return. I tried using less litter, but this resulted in another issue. The urine was not able to be scooped into the bin and sticks to the bottom of the tray. I have tried 3 different clumping litters over a month. I have now turned it off and use it as an expensive standard litter tray. I wish I didn’t throw out my previous model. I am unable to upload photos for some reason.

Questionable piece
We just purchased this box for our 2 cats..not happy with the grater. It's way to wide and always having to clean behind it . Seems to be a struggle for it when it's grating .. as well

Would not purchase
My wife and I bought this 2 weeks ago for our 2 cats. Unfortunately, it has been getting stuck at the tray and does not reset, maybe there is litter jammed in the internal workings? I don’t know, I just know that it isn’t working. Would not recommend.

Horrible!
I bought this February 2025 it is now 12/5/2025 and it has had multiple problems since I’ve had it! The rake stops and will not continue and I’ve had to take it apart multiple times. I’ve called for support no one ever calls back! I have to clean more for the lack of it not working properly. It doesn’t matter what litter or how many times I’ve cleaned it, it squeals and the rake stops. Do not recommend wasting money on this!

I love it!
I love this letterbox! All I have to do is empty the tray. After the cat goes in, and the box does its thing, it looks like it hasn't even been used. No more stench! Thank you so very much!

Horrible Product and Waste of Money
This is a horrible product. 1. You cannot line the base. I tried lining the base with an XL liner and the rake caught on the plastic and misaligned from the track. I had to call PetSafe to get a replacement. 2. My biggest issue with the product is the amount of the litter it wastes. This box goes through almost two packages of litter a month. Every time I open the poop compartment, half of it is filled with loose litter, not pee clumps. After about 2-3 weeks I have to get more litter. This problem has gotten worse overtime, and it’s becoming expensive to continue using the box because of how much litter it wastes. 3. It takes more time to clean this litter box than a normal litter box or their original self-cleaning litter-box, because you can’t line where your cats use the bathroom, only the poop compartment. This doesn’t make sense to me because the whole point of a self-cleaning litter box is to cut down on cleaning time. You have empty the compartment just as often as scooping a normal litter box, and then cleaning the box is more work because, once again, you cannot use a liner. Not only is this flaw inconvenient, but it’s unsanitary. The instruction card literally says to wash the base in a dishwasher…like is that a joke? I’ve used their original self-cleaning box for years, since 2021. I’m going to assume that most customers are coming over from using their original product. You’d think the company would release a good product for its customer base, but this product is a waste of money. I’ve had this product for six months and I’m throwing it away.

This is because they will always damage the box; we're so sorry for any misunderstanding. When used as intended, no liner is needed to help keep this box clean. Though the tray does not need to be cleaned as often as a standard box, when you are changing the litter the tray can be washed either in the dishwasher or by quickly scrubbing the tray down using warm water and soap in the location of your choice. To help prevent excess litter from being pushed into the waste bin area, we would recommend filling the box near the minimum line. Though a slight amount of clean litter may still be raked into the bin, this will minimize clean litter being caught with the waste. If you have any difficulties after trying these tips or there's anything else we can help you with, please reach out to us. Best cat box I've had!
I love this box! I switched to this from the CatGenie AI and it's fantastic. It's so much quieter, not loud at all. My cats have had no issue adjusting. It is quite large though. The inside space is about the same as a standard litter box, but the sides are what makes it large.

SAFEST & WONDEFUL LITTER BOX
I bought mine about eight months ago, had a little issue wouldn't resolved. Sent my receipt and explained they sent me a new one....NO hassle! Will be using again and again. I have a frighten older cat, loves the litter box (didn't think he would) I'm recommending this to everyone and all! Also, safest one I've seen on the market a lot have scary, terrible reviews of horrific stories loosing furry babies.... I love mine again and again <3

I'm impressed!
I bought this product a few weeks ago. I have arthritis in my right hip and it's hard to kneel down and clean the litter box. The product is easy to setup. I filled the trey with litter and plug it in, the product automatically did a test run as if it had sense a presents of a cat. I'm impressed! I have a few cats and they studied the product for a few minutes, then started using the product. The only problem I see is that the manufacturer should redesign the rake. It be a 1/4 inch wider at the bottom so it can do a full sweep in the trey. Other than that. The product works great! I will be buying a few more of these units in the future. I highly recommend this product. Money worth investing. Thank you.

Horrible product.
I bought this product two months ago and it is absolutely horrible. The rake gets stuck halfway all the time and I have the kitty litter at the correct level. I’m trying to get support for it but I haven’t heard back from anybody.

I bought this litter box to replace the old one due to burnt out motor. I loved my old litter box which I had for 5 years. This litter bix is shallow waste clean litter because it scoops all litter clumped or not.

Not worth your money.
I bought this about three months ago and the rake is getting stuck when it dumps the cats waste. The only way to get the rake to the home position is walk it back by constantly pushing the power button until it reaches the end. Then, If we are not home it constantly tries to go back and doesn’t.then we get the smell of the litter because the lid stays open. It also traps a lot of the clean litter with the waste. We have tried everything suggested to get it to eork and it doesn’t. I am having to scoop the litter box out when I bought a self cleaning one. Very disappointed that it hasn’t lasted

Better than Litter Robot 3 or 4
Excellent and reliable for larger/longer cats! We previously had a Litter Robot 3 and 4, the cats could barely fit and the robots had serious reliability issues even after their support sent replacements. This model has been reliable for the last several months and much more comfortable for our cats. Much easier to clean and much less maintenance required.

Doesn’t last as long as it should for the price
I have had this litter box less than a year and it is now stuck with a solid red light on. It will blink blue and red, run its cycle and then turn to a solid ted once back at the home position. I have tried all of the trouble shooting and it still doesn’t not work. Definitely not worth the price for a little as it lasts. Up until now, it was great.

I bought this less than 6 months ago and it's dead. The rake goes a few inches and returns, even without litter in it. Then it stopped raking at all. If I unplug it and replug it in , sometimes it works for 30 seconds, but not enough. The rake never seemed very powerful and often missed the big clumps on the bottom, but it did exactly what I needed - cleaned the box constantly! My cat loved that he never had to step on anything on the top of the litter. So i am VERY disappointed that it didn't last a year. It's so expensive for the issues it has. I have to find a replacement that's open top like this one. And crystal litter is a no go, all my Foster cats hate crystal litter.

Not worth the headaches.
I bought two of these within this last year and at first they worked good enough, but then one kept having issues where the rake would stop moving for no obvious reason (could be in fresh litter). The issue became unrepairable and PetSafe replaced it. About four months later and now both litter boxes are obnoxiously loud and I constantly have to take the rake off because it rubs on one side. Save yourself the frustration and money by just scoop regular boxes daily.

Good…. For a while
This has worked great for about 8 months and now it seems the button doesn’t work and it is holding the rake in the front like it’s dumping it and won’t reset to the back to the rear of the box no matter what i do. It also seems to have trouble using lightweight litter for some reason. It also messes up and incomplete the rake. If I were to do it again I’d probably get one with an app so at least you can see what’s wrong with it. Annoying it didn’t last me longer but when it works it works! Decent bang for buck

Stopped working in months
I bought two of these in August 2024, and by December one of them stopped working. I ordered a replacement, but now in January 2025 none of them are working. They were fine while they worked, although a little noisy, but to stop working altogether after only 5 months, I definitely did NOT get my money's worth. I do not recommend this product.
