I would have to pair it with other products for the curls to last a few days. Initially the curls are very defined and shiny. It’s good for a one day wash and go type of hairstyle but not for lasting curls. It dries down quickly too.

His curls needed something thicker and hydrating, and this cream delivered. The rich, thick consistency made detangling easier and helped to define his curls. I do recommend layering an oil or sealant on top to lock in the moisture and provide extra shine. Overall, I liked this product and plan to use it again!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I initially purchased this product for my daughter, who has Type 3 curls, thinking the richer consistency would help enhance her definition. The tropical fragrance is absolutely beautiful, and the formula itself is noticeably thick. The mint leans more toward a menthol scent, so if you’re sensitive to that sharper cooling note, it’s something to keep in mind. It took about three weeks of experimenting for me to really form an opinion. The first time I applied it, her hair was damp…almost dry…and I layered it with another leave-in product. That combination left her hair looking and feeling greasy, which was disappointing. I wasn’t ready to give up on it just yet, though. When I tried it again on freshly washed, wet hair and used it on its own, I saw much better results. The curl definition was lovely, her hair felt smooth, and it was incredibly soft. It didn’t have that heavy slickness from the first attempt. However, once fully dry, her hair still had a slightly greasy appearance and the product seemed to weigh her curls down more than I’d like. Because of that lingering heaviness, I don’t see myself repurchasing it. I do think the thicker consistency may work beautifully for someone with Type 4 hair who needs more weight and moisture—but for us, it just wasn’t the right match.

It mixed into my hair well and didn't leave any white casting behind which is a major plus. My hair felt moisturized and the curls were noticeably defined.

It’s on the thicker side so a little goes a long way and it really helps cut down frizz while keeping my curls bouncy. It smells soooo good like a tropical scent meets minty. My hair stays hydrated and shiny throughout the day (thank you babassu oil) Overall, it’s a great option if your curls need moisture and definition without feeling stiff or dry. I highly recommend!

I agree with the first person and they are not giving enough attention to the scent which I would wear as a perfume if I could find it. It's worth it to buy it just for that alone, but if you're having a problem with it being too concentrated just put it in another bottle and cut it with water as much as you need to and use it as a spray or lotion consistency instead. I love it because it's so concentrated that I can water it down a lot and it still works. In fact I think of it as a concentrate which I love cuz it's great value and it works terrific. I've used it as the only hair product I had and watered down a bit and it worked better then some combos of 4 to 5 different hair products and I'm normally wearing anywhere between 3-8 any given day up to over a cup of product in my hair and I would say that this is a comparable result and it smells amazing. I just bring a small spritzee bottle of it watered down with me to refresh the scent get rid of frizz and redefine anything. I air dry my hair I've also had no problem at all using this with other products, it just makes the end result better and I've never had a problem with it being sticky or anything. I'm thinking maybe the other person has thinner and less dry hair that is less curly maybe? I have really curly hair and a lot of it, I frequently dye it with splat reds and more occasionally with L'Oreal reds and it's a blunt cut that I wear down air dried then divided into a couple sections I clip up so I get more volume on top and it's not all in my face. This stuff works great for that and I can't imagine anyone with dry curly unruly hair who likes wonderful scents not liking the result of this product even if they have to water it down.

Tropical scent. Has a somewhat thick creamy consistency. I applied to wet hair without any leave in. Coated my strands so it took alittle longer to dry. Very moisturized and defined soft hold. Weighed my hair down in a good way. Perfect for the colder months. 1 and done.

Awful! Smells ok, but the texture it leaves on my hair i hate it! My curls are thick and loose but with this cream they don't hold, for some reason they separate so I have skinny curls and my hair feels sticky. I can't refresh them the next day and styling my hair hurts because of the stickiness.

First and foremost I love Mielle products I use the rosemary mint shampoo and conditioner which is bomb btw 😌 My hair is on the finer side 3A loose curls but it gets dry within 2 days after washing it this curl cream does a great job with keeping my curls hydrated and soft the fragrance is a grapefruit so it definitely gives off summer vibes! a little goes a long way since it’s a thick cream but that’s no issue since that means the product will last awhile for me I sometimes pair it with their honey & ginger styling gel. Love Mielle products they’ve definitely changed the game on my hair routine ❤️

After years of searching for a product that would keep my curls defined without making them crunchy, Mielle delivered! This product keeps my hair soft and my curls looking put-together while smelling amazing! Seriously, an elderly lady in church comes to hug me every week because she likes the way my hair smells. Most stores in my area do not carry this product, but I'm hoping that changes because it's fantastic!

This is my favorite Mielle product! I have mixed hair but it is mostly 4c. I have tried many products over many lines and this is the best hands down. The smell is AMAZING!!

I have fine, 4c short hair and use the Brazilian Curly Cocktail Curl Cream along with the Brazilian Curly Cocktail Curl Mousse and air dry. This is my wash and go routine. The results? On a week-long cruise, my friends said my curls were popping’! What a compliment since I did not have to do much at all…just apply the product and go!

This has to be my absolute favorite product ! Leave my curls juicy & moisturized! It smells amazing… So much so my son wanted his hair to “smell like mine” lol
