I waited and took this bug spray on our family reunion camping trip, up in the Utah Mountains, for the ultimate test. I had multiple people use it and they all noted how much they liked the scent (and I have some very opinionated teenagers). Unlike the typical chemical scents that generic bug sprays have, this one was great and didn't't make you cringe when putting it on. It made me think of a pleasantly subtle woodsy aroma. I loved how it came out in a more direct mist-like spray onto the skin instead of in a wide burst that ended up more around you than on you - if you've used other aerosol sprays, you know what I'm talking about. This way you actually use the product you bought, rather than getting it on everyone and everything around you instead of on your skin. This bug spray absorbed nicely and didn't leave an oily residue. I completely forgot I was wearing it and it did a great job! Only one person, in our crew of 7, got a bug bite the whole camping trip and that might have been because she missed a spot during application on her knee. It was very hot that weekend (90s-100s) and it did not sweat off. It kept powering through. I would absolutely recommend this spray to everyone!

I live in the Midwest, and let me tell you as someone who has't always lived in the Midwest—it is HUMID and along with that humidity comes bugs. So. Many. Bugs. Mosquitos, June bugs, ticks, flies, stink bugs, ants, etc. Theye all here and they are all everywhere. Nothing ruins a nice outdoor adventure quite like bugs, especially as I have quite severe reactions to mosquito bites (and so do my kids). It actually known as Skeeter Syndrome, which sounds so nonsensical, but it real! The bugs have kept us from making the most of the outside, especially because we try to avoid toxins—looking at you DEET—and they seem to fill most of the bug sprays out there with it. I've tried the natural remedies, but no dice, the mosquitos swarm anyway. Enter: Grand Tongo. Holy guacamole, this stuff works amazingly well. I put it on myself and my kiddos, and we went outside to do some yard work. Number of bug bites upon reentering my home? Zero. Normally that number would be solid double digits. Another time I used this spray before going outside to wash, brush, and groom my 3 Australian Shepherds. As I'm sure you can imagine, it's a time consuming process, and the water usually attracts the mosquitos even more so. Again, zero bug bites of any kind upon going inside. Another thing we haven't seen? Ticks, and ticks are HUGE this season here in Missouri. My kids have not gotten a single one, and I fully attribute that to Grand Tongo. This spray goes on easily, although it does recommend spraying it into your hands and then rubbing it on your kiddos. At first I scoffed at that because it seemed counter productive and like it'd be a waste, but it went on my kids just fine and didn't't seem to take longer or waste any product. The scent was perfect. It didn't't burn my nose, as many do, but it also faded rather quickly which I loved. It was like a quick burst of scent upon first application, and then it went away. Now, if you do choose to spray it and then walk through it, it will be overpowering, and neither I (nor the directions) would recommend that. I did it mistakenly once, however, and it was not a fun time, but it went away within about 30 seconds which was much better than the times I experienced that with some competitor bug sprays (I have 6 kids- crazy things happen sometimes). I really appreciated and enjoyed this bug spray so much that I've already given some to my neighbors! It's a perfect summer cook-out gift and has solidified a place in my home.

I used this productvwhile i was camping were i get bit most and i didnt get bit at all this weekend. I get headaches real easy to strong smells so I usually get perfume free but this was a light decret smell i would recommend this to anyone that has the same problem. It is a very easy application process and long lasting too.

Attracted Cascade Lakes Mosquitoes like crazy! I know they’re extreme in Oregon. Smells nice and may work in other areas? Trying other brands.

It felt super light going on, I honestly wasn’t sure I had even sprayed it lol. The scent was light but disappeared so quickly I forgot I was wearing it. Very light on the skin as well, not sticky at all. I also really love the ingredients. My kids didn't even mind wearing it and that’s saying something! I don’t live in a terribly buggy area but didn’t receive any bites when I was wearing it. I’m excited to continue using it as we travel to more buggy climates this summer.

It was easy to apply all over my body with an wonderful citrusy scent. It didn't leave any sticky residue feeling, I even forgot I was wearing it, with protection lasting up to 12 hours. I used this product outside in my yard with many trees and plants, I needed protection from bites from the many insects I have in my yard. I think it did very well protecting me, except for one fly that seemed attracted to it. Overall it is an awesome product and will be using everytime I'm outside.

I tried this bug spray the first time right after it rained to take my son to play outside, I put it on him as well, we were getting eaten up it felt like there was bug attractor in this spray!!! I then decided to try it a few more times for regular park days that weren’t too humid, and it is okay, I do think it works okay in a pinch, but since I am so prone to attracting bugs, this spray isn’t right for me. Upon first application (applied for a hiking adventure on two adults and two younger children) everyone was amazed at the smooth application and non greasy feeling on the skin. The citrus + sandalwood scent also surprised us adults with a fresh, yet woodsy light scent that not only smelled REALLY good but wasn't too overpowering. Our hike led us out to Lake Superior, where the flies were HORRIBLE. We all did a quick reapply: I will say the spray didn't last long term with the abundant amount of flies, but we don't fault the product for that as the flies were by far, horrendous. The reapplication allowed us several extra minutes at the beach, as other families were quickly heading out due to being attacked by flies. I've included a picture of my husband's leg after application to show how smooth of a finish it gives without that horribly greasy feeling. Again I'll happily note the ease of application, wonderful scent and non greasy feeling to the skin or clothing. If it weren't for the inviting scent, we wouldn't even know we were wearing it. We later tested the insect repellent around our yard where the mosquitos were thick. We all noticed none of us were being bothered by any bugs at all, what a game changer! My entire family happily gives Grand Tongo insect repellent in the scent citrus + sandalwood a glowing reference and will happily purchase in the future!

I liked that the repellent goes on easily and didn't feel oily or heavy on my skin. I used it on my feet and legs only and successfully avoided bug bites in those areas for the entire evening. I do wish that the fragrance were a little stronger. While it does smell nice when you apply it, the scent is fairly weak and does not last for very long at all. Overall, I would use this repellent again and will recommend it to my friends and family
