    Great purchase, love it

I bought this a few weeks ago and I have zero regrets. The grain and rice cooker is better than I expected. It is so easy to use and love that I don't have to measure anything. Just put rice in and make sure the water tank is full, then press and go! So simple and so worth the money

    Make room on your countertops!

I’ve been using my KitchenAid grain and rice cooker for about a month now, and it’s become a daily staple in my kitchen. The preset functions are incredibly versatile, and I’ve never had any issues with the quality of the grains or rice that come out of it. Whether I’m making a small batch of potatoes with spices or a full pot of steel-cut oatmeal, the cooker always delivers on the expected results. One of my favorite features is the steam function. I can add small potatoes and spices to the cooker, and within 20 minutes, I have a delicious side dish. I also use the cooker to make oatmeal, which I prepare first thing in the morning while I’m getting ready for work. It not only cooks the oatmeal perfectly but also keeps it warm. The KitchenAid Grain and Rice cooker is easy to clean, especially if you take good care of the pot. The only issue I’ve had is with the steamer basket. It came out of the box in two pieces, so I have to use tongs to maneuver the basket out of the unit. I will increase my rating to five stars once I receive a new steamer basket from KitchenAid. Otherwise, this is my most favorite appliance that I purchased in the last few years and it looks good on the counter beside my KitchenAid mixer.

Broken just out of warranty. Expected better.

We purchased this in August 2024. Now in December 2025, just a few months outside the 1 year warranty, the scale is wildly inaccurate no matter how many times you zero it, so all the cooking is off and it can’t be used. Very disappointed a kitchen aid product lasted such a short time. I will say until the scale problem it was wonderful, and we used it several times a week.

    BEST kitchen helper!

This might be the best kitchen tool I've ever bought! I am notorious for burning oatmeal and farro. This creates the perfect texture! And the bean soaking— it's so much cheaper to buy dried beans so this is also saving me money. (Special thanks to Jennifer Garner and her fake cooking show on Insta.)

    KitchenAid rice cooker

This rice cooker is better than sliced bread. It’s amazing, so much better than I imagined. Everyone should own one and just start cooking with it.

Perfect for Healthy People on the Go

This Grain and Rice Cooker is terrific and sooo convenient! This made it easy to eat steel cut oatmeal every morning. We just put some steel cut oatmeal into the pot and the cooker figures out the amount water needed and the right amount of time to cook. It even has a delayed timer and warmer. So perfect for people of convenience and on the go. Such a handy item. We love it!

    Great and Easy

We use this appliance to cook rice several times per week. Very easy to use, and the rice comes out perfect. Only bummer is that the black pot, can easily get a paint chip.

This unit is not worth the money that was spent on it. It is complicated, lacks directions in the owners manual, I would recommend this unit to anyone

Well made rice and bean cooker!

This product surprised me. It really makes fantastic beans in a set it and forget it way. You can tell they spent some time on the settings, and you can customize a setting if one of them isn't quite perfect. It made perfect wild rice on the first try. It's really helpful for vegan / vegetarian households. Highly recommended!

BEST COUNTERTOP APPLIANCE - MAKE ROOM FOR IT!

I have had this for a while and finally opened up the box. Why did I wait so long? Lack of counter space. But oh this is now my favorite appliance. So far I've just used the steamer, and made corn on the cob, broccoli, and a bunch of hard boiled eggs. This thing is MAGIC.

This really is the best way to make so many things. Next to our expression machine it’s the most used countertop appliance we have. It cooks so many things and they all come out perfect. No more canned beans in our home.

Great concept, but not without flaws

I've had my replacement KitchenAid Grain and Rice Cooker for about a year now. My first unit unfortunately stopped working after just one use, but to KitchenAid’s credit, they replaced it quickly and without hassle. The cooker works well most of the time—I'd say about 75% reliability overall. That said, there are a few consistent issues worth noting. The outer pot and steamer basket are too small for my needs, and the built-in scale isn’t always accurate. For example, if you set your container down nearby while it’s zeroing out, it can throw the weight off. More recently, the device has started to overheat during cooking, and there's now an odd clicking noise that didn’t exist before. It’s a great idea with solid potential, but it seems like there are still some quality and design kinks to work out.

    Burns whatever it’s cooking!

We’ve had this rice cooker for several months and EVERY time we try cooking something in it (rice, quinoa, couscous, lentils, etc.) it sticks to the bottom, overcooks, and burns it! We have to stop the cooking process sometime in the middle of the cook time and hope that it’s cooked all the way. Not worth the money we paid for it!!

    Completely Frustrating Experience

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I decided to splurge and buy what I though was a nice rice cooker. The problem is, if you are following a recipe with other ingredients, the unit tells you that you added too much broth, and dump some out. If you take out the pot to dump some out, it resets the system and now you can't start with the rice weight, as there is already broth and other ingredients in the pot. I was never even able to cook the rice. There should be manual settings to get past this. The Kitchenaid customer service people have made it even more frustrating with the return process. After finally getting it approved for return, I'm still waiting on a refund with them having received it over a week ago.

    Perfect Results Every Time

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So after a month with the product and cooking four different grains I’m familiar with, I’ve been astonished at how consistent the terrific results have been. I love knowing that when I use it the device calibrates how much water and how long to cook contingent on my settings so that it’s perfect every time. I’ll not go back to my old cooker and can’t wait to cook even more in this cooker!
