Motor broke
The train motor broke after 24 hours. My son was so disappointed. It is otherwise a cute set for a 2 year old

Defective train motor
Train stopped working correctly after I changed the batteries. We thought the batteries were dying because it won’t go up hills but after changing the batteries it still won’t. Not sure what happened. Looks like others have the same problem.

Best present ever!
This was a gift for my son’s 3rd birthday and it has been such a hit! I love these quality of it and that it turns into a box to hold all of the pieces. Can’t believe it’s such a great price too!

Excellent Value - from an experienced boy mom train lover
This is great value. I bought for my 2 year old nephew who loves the library train table. While he was more interested in his other presents, my 10 year old and I played with it for a bit. It has a little helicopter (and an H-pad spot!) that has a magnet on it so that it can pick up the block of "logs" that can also be picked up with the crane and attach on to the trains and the little truck. My 10-year old said he was jealous and wanted it for himself :) The bucket itself is part of the train trackets, both the top and bottom, and they fit back in easily. It has 2 splitters and a double-peg piece, so that you can make a loop split off like in the picture, but it doesn't have enough of those pieces to make it so that the train can get back to the loop without picking it up and turning around. So if you have advanced train tracker builders, you might want to buy a couple more special pieces (male-male, female-female, splitters), but you really don't have to if you're just getting started. The hill pieces fit perfectly, which doesn't always happen with these kinds of sets. The hills also have a ridge which means that the trains can stay on the hill without rolling back down. The orange turning bridge piece can be flipped over to curve in either direction. The tracks are 20-sided, so you can turn them over to go in the other direction. The fact that there is stuff to do beyond the train with the helicopter and truck and crane and magnet logs and gates (which have a ramp for cards to cross) makes it a lot more fun. The pieces also fit easily and none of them had splitting wood or splinters, which can also happen with these kinds of sets.

Fun space saving train set
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This set is perfect for someone who possibly doesn’t have a ton of space or maybe even someone who has a second home and they take some toys back and forth as this train set all cleans up into the bottom of it and it’s a perfect fit that also doesn’t have to be a science to fit. The box even has some track on it too! You just toss them in and ready to go all cleaned up as shown. The pieces are wood and well made, all easily put together and played with. My children both love this and I love how nice it is to clean up and I don’t have to leave it out or have another container to keep it in.

Great, except for defective train
Would be a perfect 5-star product if the motorized engine hadn’t stopped working after just a couple days! It isn’t the batteries; it sounds like something is broke inside the motor. That was the main reason we got this particular set; so my son could have a motorized engine :( I can’t get a hold of Target or Gigglescape to fix this issue, so we feel like it was a waste of money to get this instead of a cheaper set.

Weak battery powered train
My 4y/o really loves trains and we did not want a really huge set due to space limitations. Having everything fit in a tub works well for us. The instructions has a picture but a 4 year old is unable to follow this so I have been putting it together each and every time. Due to the limited amount of tracks, one can only really form it as shown. My biggest beef with this is the powered motor train is so weak that it does not even go up the green bridge inclines alone (no problem sliding down of course) and/or pulling anything behind it. We have only had it for a few days and we had to change batteries twice already thinking it was a battery issue. Batteries don't last long and everytime we put in new ones, the power is still so weak that the train is unable to move around the track on its own.

Such a cool train set and storage bin
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is such a cool train set. The storage tub not only holds all of the pieces but also is a part of the set! It helps create different heights and levels for the tracks. It comes with a few accessories like trees and vehicles including a motorized train, just needs a battery to be added to it. This really is so much fun!

Wooden Train Storage Tub
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a tub that contains a wooden train set. This set is fairly advanced for my kids so I do have to build the train track for them. I like that the wooden train tracks are the same style as the ones I grew up with. My son likes these more than a toy car because the grooves on the track help the train stay on the path.

Great first train set and love the storage box!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like this train set for my 3.5 year old. The storage box doubles as part of the track which makes it easy to travel with and bring from place to place. I will say there are not a ton of track pieces so it makes it hard to make a lot of different types of tracks. I do like that the instructions had an example track. The train’s battery power isn’t great but for the price it’s a good first set!

My 3 yr old loves it
My 3 yr old (almost 4) loves playing with this train set a few times a week. I like that it is made well, colorful, fun, affordable & the train’s battery last a long time. But it’s somewhat difficult to assemble as the directions say/show (we’ve only been successful at doing it twice & we’ve owned it a year). It desperately needs a two sided track piece for you to do other track configurations that will actually close off & not be open ended. Overall it’s a great buy & I’d recommend, it can just be frustrating to attempt put together sometimes.

Frustrating assembly for my 5 yr old
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son has a wood train track which he loves, so I though this set would be a fun addition to that. I really appreciate how this whole set fits inside a bin that comes with the set, and the bin can even be used in the track. Such a creative design. My five year old, however, had a really hard time figuring out how to replicate the track on the direction page. The magnet lifter component that is built into one track piece was also difficult to use, it was a little sticky so it would move the whole track move when we tried to use it.

Love this train set
I bought this for my grandkids to play with when they’re at my house, and they love it and spend lots of time playing with it. The track is a good size, and my grandkids love the “mountains” and the tracks that lead up them. The “mountains” doubling as a storage container for the pieces is a great idea. You can put the tracks together as illustrated, or you can make your own configurations.

Compatible with our other sets
This little train set is overall a solid toy. The pieces feel sturdy. The tracks fit with the other tracks we have from another brand. And it seems to have just enough pieces to make an interesting track. Downsides are that the motorized engine struggles uphill when it’s pulling any cargo. The engine also gets stuck going in a loop if you build the track included in the instructions. Both track split pieces have their male/female parts in the same places so I’m not sure you can remedy that problem, unless you have track splitters from a different set. The best parts of this track are the inclines and the stanchion supports.
