So much better than local sunscreens
Mine wasn’t expired. Worked amazing for the weirdly hot weather in California in February. If you’re obsessed with J-Beauty like I am, you’ve definitely seen the Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Gel floating around. I grabbed this bottle (the 70ml size is perfect for throwing in a tote), and first things first: make sure you shake it! Unlike the famous "Essence" version, this Gel formula is actually quite fluid and milky, almost like a thin lotion containing tiny micro-capsules. It smells fresh and citrusy—like lemons—but I have to be real: there is a strong whiff of alcohol when you first apply it. It feels incredibly cooling and watery as it spreads, absorbing fast without that heavy, greasy sunscreen feeling we all hate. However, we need to talk about the finish. While it hydrates like a dream, this specific Gel formula has a "brightening" powder in it, which is basically code for a slight white cast. On my skin, it took a solid minute of rubbing to blend in, and even then, I looked a little pale until it fully set. It dries down to a dewy, almost shiny finish rather than matte, so if you’re oily, you might feel a bit slick by the afternoon.
