Book Synopsis

Trabajar. Dormir. Repetir. VIVIR.

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

Work. Sleep. Repeat. LIVE.

An essay that reflects on our relationship to work and how it eats up our time.

There are two main reasons to stay at a job: illusion and fear. The illusion of prosperity, stability and advancement. Or, fear of not being able to pay the rent, running out of money before the end of the month, not being good enough, failing.

If your salary barely covers your basic needs, you have no hope of advancing, all you do is go to work and home again, you take work home, have no free time to dream and no energy to make the dreams you do have come true, is it worth working such long hours? The answer is always no. It's never worth it. You may still worry about not making it until the end of the month, but you'll gain in time and quality of life.

In this essay, somewhere between a personal account and societal analysis, digital activist and creative editor Laura Camps de Agorreta examines our relationship to work and invites us to reflect on how we got here, as well as the type of future we want for ourselves.

Because once you get back your time, you'll ever want to give it up again.
