I used to love these bars but it seems like recently the recipe has change. The flavor taste very artificial to a point where these are inedible. At first I thought I had a bad batch but it seems like all of the protein bars taste that way now.

Something tastes off about this bar… almost like it is spoiled?? I thought I’d buy it based on its good reviews and figured the bad ones about the awful taste / change in ingredients was just a bad batch but no - they are telling the truth.

I used to grab the bars on the go every morning. I bought 2 more boxes and noticed something tasted off. Thought I was just eh box so I opened the next box and same thing. I saw some of the reviews from others and they agree. Whatever has changed in the recipe it was not a good change. I don’t think I can continue buying these, as they taste like they’re sour or spoiled now every time I eat one.

The dark chocolate peanut butter protein bars have a different taste and sadly I will no longer will be buying these bars. The taste is so bad I threw my box away. If it’s not broken don’t try and fix it.

I used to enjoy this product, then the ingredients changed. There are not as many nuts and the bars are smaller. While I understand things change. Remember "New Coke", please bring back the old recipe.

Imagine my surprise when I opened my most recent box of these bars finding it just a little over half full. I suppose this company thinks that we wouldn’t notice way less product for way more money. Definitely not worth the price. I have kept these on hand for me and my family for years. No more! Fool me once Nature Valley. Without a refund, you won’t fool me again! Also, this site wouldn’t allow me to post an image.

Just tried for the first time. Nutritionally I like them in terms of a lot of the fat being from peanuts, just the right amount of chocolate so not too sugary, good amount of protein= all positive. Texture is great, some crisps, nice chewiness, not tough, not mealy like some bars. But holy cow, will never buy again based on how salty they are. They taste at least as salty as they are sweet, yet aren't labelled to be a salt + sweet combo. Found the saltiness to be just disgusting, and drank a bunch of water afterwards. Too bad.

The last 2 and a half boxes I got from Vons haven't been as good. The taste is way different. Choclate taste weird and strong might be the Chocolate Liquer in the chips. You can't taste any Peanut Butter any more its all just nuts. Some of the bars have a burnt peanut taste too. If the recipe has changed go back to the old one. If it's not that my Vons got a bad shipment

The recipe must have changed with these bars because the 2 and a half boxes I have had taste way different than before. I can't tell if its the recipe or Vons got a a bad shipment. The Chocolate tastes stronger (Not sure if it's the Choclate liquer in the chips) you can't taste the peanut butter anymore and every other bar sometimes has a burnt peanut taste. I miss when these tasted like a literal Peanut butter cup Bar.

Today I brought a nature valley protein bar with me to work for lunch and was very disappointed in what I found. I have been eating these granola bars for years and today when I went to have my lunch I opened my bar to find some kind a fuzzy black bug with lots of legs. I thought that was it but I also found two more that were similar only smaller and gray. I was not able to eat my snack and will be throwing away the rest of my box.

i would get the bars with the original packaging at work for 190 calories (pictures attached). finally caved in and got a box at target but it’s 200 calories a bar now, but they seem smaller? i’m not sure if the change in packaging made them smaller or something or if i’m just delusional. either way though, 10 more calories isn’t that bad! these are very yummy and i feel satiated eating them on my work breaks :’D

I have been eating NV protein bar for many years. I have to agree with many of the reviews written recently. New packaging is very difficult to open; need scissors to open. Used to be able to take to eat on the go but no longer because they are so difficult to open!!!! Fire who ever came up with the new packaging. Plus you’ve made the bars smaller and charge more. YOUR CUSTOMERS ARE PAYING ATTENTION. Pay more, for less!!!

Great bar but the new packaging is very difficult to impossible open without a tool or cutter!!! Impossible to open safely when driving. Impossible to give to grandchildren because they can't open them. Still love them but will probably eat far less because they are so inconvenient to open!
