Q: Can a 12 year old use this?

submitted by Tammy - 2 months ago
  • A: Hello there! While Cicaplast Balm B5 is generally very well-tolerated, we always recommend consulting with a pediatrician or dermatologist before using any skincare product on a child under 13, especially if they have any underlying skin conditions. Cicaplast Balm B5 is formulated to soothe and protect irritated skin and is suitable for use on both the face and body. It's often used for minor cuts, scrapes, burns, and dry skin. However, a healthcare professional can best assess your child's individual skin needs and recommend the most appropriate course of action.

Q: Will this get rid of the peeling all over my face!

submitted by Lily - 5 months ago
  • A: Hello Lily! Cicaplast Balm B5 is excellent for soothing and protecting irritated, dry skin, and it can be very helpful in relieving the discomfort associated with peeling skin. It creates a protective barrier that helps the skin repair itself and retain moisture, which can reduce the appearance of peeling. However, it's important to understand that it won't necessarily eliminate the underlying cause of the peeling. Peeling skin can result from various factors, including sunburn, certain skin conditions (like eczema or psoriasis), allergic reactions, or even some skincare products. If your peeling is severe, persistent, or accompanied by other symptoms like itching, redness, or pain, it's important to consult a dermatologist to determine the cause and get appropriate treatment. They can advise on the best approach for your specific situation and may recommend additional treatments alongside Cicaplast Balm B5. While Cicaplast Balm B5 can help soothe and protect your skin while it heals, it's essential to address the root cause of the peeling for long-term relief.

Q: Is this product acne safe? I use a 10% Benzoyl Peroxide facial wash and it drys my skin out. Looking for something hydratingand thick but not acne causing.

submitted by LS - 6 months ago
  • A: If you have normal to dry to sensitive skin this is a great product in the evenings to repair your skin barrier and leave your skin calm nurished and happy. If you have normal to oily to acne prone skin I would be mindful to not cover those spots while you have an active breakout until it is in its healing stage so you don't risk clogging those pores or trapping in harmful bacteria, potentially making the situation worse.

  • A: It depends on your skin. It’s a very thick, deeply moisturizing product. I don’t use it during the day because it would feel like too much on my skin. I use it sparingly , at night in winter or when my face is very dry. It’s more like a thick mask. It generally works best if you use it to seal in moisture, after a shower or at night where it has time to saturate.

Q: Hello, Can I use this product under my eyes? I use hydroquinone under my eyes to lighten hyperpigmentation. Hydroquinone makes my skin extremely dry. Can I use cicaplast b5 to moisturize?

submitted by R - 2 years ago
  • A: Hello R, Thank you for your interest in La Roche Posay Cicaplast Balm Vitamin B5 Soothing Therapeutic Cream for Dry Skin and Irritated Skin - 1.35oz. This Soothing cream may be used on the body as well as the face, however we do not recommend using directly on the eyelids as we have not tested this product on that area. Skin around the eye area including the eyelids tends to be thinner than on other parts of the face and body. We would recommend using our Hydraphase Intense Hyaluronic Acid Eye Cream. This hyaluronic acid eye cream moisturizes immediately and provides long-lasting hydration. Visibly diminishes the look of under-eye bags and puffiness. We hope you will give this product a try soon. Thank you for reaching out to La Roche Posay!

Q: Please help clarify: is the product vegan and is it cruelty-free?

submitted by bhcsq - 18 days ago
  • A: Hello bhcsq! Thank you for your interest in La Roche Posay Cicaplast Balm Vitamin B5 Soothing Therapeutic Cream for Dry Skin and Irritated Skin - Unscented - 1.35oz . This product does not make the claim to be vegan or cruelty-free. At L’Oréal, we care for animal welfare and do not test on animals. We are for a world without animal testing. Since 1989, we have not tested the safety of our products on animals, 14 years before regulations required us to do so. There are effective non-animal ways to ensure the safety of cosmetic products. For example, over 40 years ago, L’Oréal pioneered the development of human reconstructed skin that is more accurate for analyzing how cosmetic ingredients and products will behave on human skin. We hope this information has been helpful and that you will try our products soon.

Q: Hi, is La Roche Posay Cicaplast Balm Vitamin B5 Soothing Therapeutic Cream for Dry Skin and Irritated Skin - Unscented safe to be used regularly on a bold scalp? thanks!

submitted by BQ - 1 month ago
  • A: Hello BQ! Thanks for reaching out! While Cicaplast Balm B5 is fantastic for dry and irritated skin, we don't recommend using it on the scalp. It's formulated for skin, not the scalp environment, and could potentially lead to buildup or other undesired effects. For scalp concerns, we recommend consulting with a dermatologist or exploring products specifically designed for scalp care. They'll be able to recommend the best options for your specific needs.

Q: Do I use this before or after moisturizer? Or does this replace moisturizer when why skin is very dry?

submitted by BriLee - 2 months ago
  • A: Hello BriLee! La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Balm B5 is a multi-purpose soothing balm best used on targeted areas of very dry, irritated, or compromised skin. It can be used before or after your regular moisturizer, depending on your needs. For intense dryness or irritation, apply Cicaplast Balm B5 first to create a protective barrier, and then follow with your moisturizer to add further hydration. Alternatively, for less severe dryness, you can apply your moisturizer first and then use Cicaplast Balm B5 only on specific dry or irritated areas. If you’re using it on a small, very dry or irritated area, you can use it in place of your regular moisturizer, but it’s generally not recommended to replace your facial moisturizer entirely with Cicaplast Balm B5 as a daily routine.

I have a very dry eczema patch on my forehead. This cream is absolutely saving me like no other product has!! I’ve tried rich creams and lotions, hyaluronic acid, etc — this is the only thing that’s worked, since you really can’t put steroid creams on eczema that’s on your face. It’s also the only thing that has had *lasting* moisturization on the spot, like keeps it hydrated overnight. I also use this on my cheeks which are a little dry this season and it’s helping rebalance my skin.

Recently I have been using Adapalene, and the skin dryness was instantly soothed and smoothed by this product. I have also experienced intense allergies, where I am constanlty blowing my nose or wiping it, creating endless friction. I decided to use the balm heavily on my nose, and I was no longer dry, red, and most importantly sore to the touch. Some people may not like the oily and heavy feeling, and trust me, living on a tropical island that is humid made me think this product wouldn't work for me, but I got used to the feeling and now this is part of my everyday night routine. What helped was using a pea-sized amount, dabbing small dots all over my face, then blending or dabbing it in. Hopefully this will work for you, as much as it did for me, but of course we all have different skin and reactions. For me, it was worth the money!

This is now a wintertime go-to product for me. This balm is great for protecting the backs of my hands and fingers during cold and windy months. It doesn’t feel good on the palms, so I apply it with one finger. It lasts through multiple hand washes. My husband likes it for his eczema too.

I've got rosacea and tried quite a few products over the past year or so, however this is the only one I've found so far that dosent irritate my skin. It's quite thick however does sink in after a while so you can wear make up over it. I don't really wear much as that too irritates so it's not a problem for me. I top it up throughput the day when my skin feels it needs calming. Definitely does what it says calms and soothes the skin. Would highly recommend.

I purchased Cicaplast Baume when starting to incorporate a retinoid into my skincare routine. My main concerns were restoring the hydration to my skin and finding a product that would hydrate and protect my skin without feeling too thick. Upon initial application the product feels almost buttery, it is incredibly thick but sheers out into a still thick but creamy consistency. You need a relatively small amount of the product and it dries down into a silly soft finish. It doesn’t feel uncomfortably thick or suffocating on the skin but leaves my skin looking and feeling softer and plumper. There is a noticeable difference in my skin when I don’t use it.

Despite its thick texture and the "whitening" effect in the first minutes after application, the cream is well and quickly absorbed. It leaves a pleasant soft film, but does not shine, there is a feeling of protection. It is suitable for my sensitive combination skin. It is still too heavy for daily use, but as an SOS remedy for restoring the barrier, for dry body skin - TOP! Not for daily use.
