I should have read the ingredients more carefully. It uses canola oil instead of olive oil so it tastes weird. I'm surprised they spring for pine nuts (a tiny amount) but not olive oil.

No basil taste at all - mostly garlic and cheese flavor
Doesn’t taste like pesto at all which is too bad because I liked the simple list of ingredients. It’s more like garlic and cheese spread - I don’t taste any basil at all and my husband didn’t either. Honestly ruins the taste of salads and sandwiches for me as a person that eats pesto quite frequently this was a disappointment to say the least. If you enjoy the true taste of basil and fresh pesto this is not your grocery item I am sad to say.

Use only to curb appetite
The actual taste is fine but the smell and texture and visual are so bad that every time I open it, I lose my appetite and feel like throwing up. I have to hold my breath to eat it. I actually use it at night to curb nighttime cravings bc it makes me lose my appetite so fast. Might be good to use for that purpose or if you have a binge eating problem. Anyone else buy literally anything else. Ive never written a review ever but this one I just cant let it slide

This tasted good, fresh & good quality. But there is an extreme amount of garlic in it. I would prefer something without garlic for work lunches (smell & breath!). I have so far used it in a dip and added a little to some pasta for a little additional flavor.

Delicious and fresh pesto without the work!
Absolutely delicious pesto. I use it to make Pesto Caprese Chicken. Cook chicken in an oven ready pan, when chicken is almost cooked, slather on nice layer of pesto, then top with sliced tomatoes and sliced fresh mozzarella. Bake until cheese is melted and chicken is cooked through. I have it almost every week it’s so good!

I bought 2 containers and both were expired. Brought them back to the store and every single container on the shelf was expired. The ones furthest back expired September 20th, then October 9th, then October 20th. I bought them on the 27th. I understand things happen and wouldn’t have been so annoyed if it was just the October 20th ones, but there’s no way they are rotating stock.

They stopped carrying this at my Kalamazoo Target stores... really hope they bring it back. This is a smooth yet robust pesto which isn't too salty (unlike other brands). I tried other brands for years before landing on this one which is the most balanced taste wise and has real pine nuts (many others do not). Try this while you still can---it looks like some stores might stop carrying it soon!

Trash.
This is the worst pesto I've ever had. If you need green garlic paste it'll be fine I guess. I love garlic, but I do not believe for one second that it isn't the first ingredient. There is no possible way there is more basil than garlic. It's also oxidized, so that's concerning as well.
