Devils in the details

The flour is great. The low rating is because it was shipped with 1 bag ripped open, or at least somehow unsealed, leaving the other bags covered in flour. What a mess from something that should have been seen when packing for shipping

Good Bread Flour

This organic rye flour was really good in helping me create a bunch of rye bagels for the first time. And what I have left over will be used to create a rye bread loaf with caraway seeds. It really helped to make a tasty and delicious organic bagel.

Great Product it works very well.

Excellent flavor and texture for a sourdough starter, as well as loaf bread

used it for my sourdough starter and it worked very well and imparts a different texture and taste. Highly recommend!

I enjoyed my experiment trying to make sourdough rye bread. The flour was great and smelled really good in the starter, but I wasn't successful with my experiment. I think my bread machine was too old or I had it on the wrong setting. In any case, I will always use the Rye Flour in all my hand made bread attempts in the future.

Nothing like homemade rye bread

Rye flour is surprisingly difficult to find, none in my local stores. I don't like paying shipping for small items like this, but fresh rye bread with caraway is worth it. This made a moderately dark bread with a great flavor. My order was shipped quickly and items were packaged securely.

The flour was just fine. The recipe I used was not so great. I need to experiment more! Buyers need to know that "white" rye and "light" rye are the same thing. I'm not an experienced baker.

SMALL packages

The flour is OK—I would like it better if the grind were a little bit coarser with more bran. It would also be good if it were available in larger packages... 20 ounces is very small. I’m baking bread, so it doesn’t go far.
