Barilla Ready Pasta Penne - 7oz

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really expecting more from this pasta. Right from the start it did not look very appetizing, and I was hesitant to even serve it to my kids. The texture was sticky and overall it did not seem very edible. Honestly, I would have preferred to just cook regular pasta instead.

As a working mom of a toddler I would highly recommend to everyone who is busy juggling everything going on in life. I put dinner together in a matter of minutes thanks to Barilla Ready Pasta! I even got my toddler to eat a whole bowl of pasta. I would definitely recommend to keep on hand for those busy nights.

I tried the Barilla Ready Pasta Penne, and it's a really convenient option when I need something quick. The pasta comes fully cooked and is ready in just 60 seconds in the microwave, which is perfect for busy days. Unfortunately I wasn't a big fan of them even those I'm go to brand for pasta is Barilla. I still prefer a traditional way of cooking it. I like that it has no preservatives, and the pouch makes it easy to store and heat up without needing extra pots or pans. The portion size (7 oz) works well for one person or as a side for two.On its own, it's pretty plain, so it definitely needs sauce, olive oil, or some seasoning to bring out the flavor.

Perfect texture. I think the time varies on your microwave settings because the time on the package was a bit off. Taste just like any other pasta you'd cook in the stove but faster!

This product will be a great help to a very specific audience. If you have time and a quite discerning palate, these are not for you; take the time to boil your own noodles. But if you are a busy single parent (and we all know that kids can be less picky about tastes and textures), and you might not want to spend the time watching boiling water, this is for you. I had it with a marinara sauce and cut up a frozen chicken patty and threw it on top. It was the fastest meal I could think of that sounded appetizing to me. While this was edible, it wouldn't be my "go to". Also, please keep in mind that I prefer my noodles a little softer than "al dente" so I might be a harsher critic than someone else who enjoys a firmer noodle. I would buy this to put in my pantry for emergencies. I would recommend this for parents or those who are busy and don't want to spend a lot of time meal prepping, but are looking to plan meals easily.
