A: We understand that safety is your top priority. It's ours, too — and we are committed to only selling products that keep babies and breast milk safe.
Like many cooler products on the market, our Portable Breast Milk Cooler was made with a standard vacuum insulation process, utilizing mixed metals that may contain lead at a point on the bottom exterior of the cooler. This point is securely covered and is designed to be completely inaccessible to any liquid or person using the product. Only purposeful misuse or intentional damage to the Portable Breast Milk Cooler could make it accessible.
Every surface of the Willow Portable Breast Milk Cooler that comes into contact with liquid or skin meets all required federal food-grade and safety standards, and the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA). Additionally, Willow Portable Breast Milk Cooler also meets the European Union’s REACH and RoHS standards, and BPA/BPS, PFOS, and phthalate safety standards.

Q: What do you recommend when adding freshly pumped milk from several pumping sessions to the cooler ? Can I combine all milk at the same time?
submitted by oni - 1 year ago
A: Combining milk from different pumping sessions can help ensure that your baby is getting complete nutrition from each bottle since milk varies in its nutritional and caloric content depending on the duration of your session, how long it has been since you last pumped, and the time of day! To minimize any risks, we recommend that you keep handling to a minimum and only pool milk that has been pumped throughout the same 24-hour period. We understand that milk pooling is nuanced, so we recommend talking to your doctor if your baby is premature, immunocompromised or if you have more questions about the current guidelines before adding freshly-pumped milk to chilled milk.

Q: How do you freeze the gel pack? Do you put the whole container in the freezer or just the gel pack?
submitted by Julz - 1 year ago
A: Great question! The gel ice pack is the only part that needs to go into the freezer. For optimal results, put the ice pack in the freezer for at least 8 hours, and ideally up to 12 hours.

Q: Does the condensation from the ice pack affect the milk? Worried about watering down the milk and making my newborn sick.
submitted by Sick Baby - 1 year ago
A: The short answer is no! The cooler air gets, the less water vapor it can hold. When the air around an object (like the gel ice pack) gets cool enough, it causes water vapor to condense and turn from gas to liquid, forming water droplets. This is a normal process, so there is no need for any concern if you notice these droplets on your ice pack. They will not dilute your breast milk.
The portable breast milk cooler is designed for convenience, allowing guests to keep milk cold while on the go. Many appreciate its compact size and ease of use, making it ideal for busy parents. However, some guests have experienced issues with the ice pack not providing adequate cooling for extended periods. Despite this, the cooler is praised for its practicality and innovative design, making it a popular choice for those needing to pump and store milk.

Didn’t work for me. The cooler
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Didn’t work for me. The cooler seems to only accommodate milk stored directly inside it. When I tried using storage bottles, they were all too large once the ice tube was inserted. It would be nice to have need to clean the cooler after each use,

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy to use cooler, however, there is a max fill line that limits how much milk you can store. The cooler pack takes half the space of this container and if you pour milk past the fill line it spills it.

Does not keep temperature
So I had no initial complaints about this cooler. It’s convenient for storing fresh milk on the go and compact enough to fit in the diaper bag if necessary. It wasn’t until a week ago that I saw a mommy blogger doing a milk cooler comparison that it was brought to my attention it does not keep milk at a safe temperature. Unless the cooler is filled to the 16 oz and actually touching the ice holder, the milk does not go below 60 degrees. Safe milk storage is 40 degrees. I tested this information myself and in fact each time the milk temp was about 60 degrees. This is unfortunate because I do like the cooler but do not trust it to keep the milk cold enough. I am still using it when I need to but I try to put the container in a refrigerator as soon as I can, definitely wouldn’t trust it for long periods of time.

Made my milk go bad
I bought two of these coolers with hopes of using them at work. I figured they would keep my milk at a safe temperature until I got home (about 8. 5 hours). The first month back at work, all the milk I had pumped while at work EVERY DAY had spoiled; even though the cooler was inside an Air conditioned building. (And I cleaned the coolers daily) The second month back at work, I attempted to put the coolers of milk in the refrigerator immediately after pumping, even though it had the frozen ice pack (I put the ice packs in the freezer every night and used them again the next day). My milk still spoiled every day. After having to pour 2 months worth of milk down the drain, I finally gave up and switched to pouring my milk into plain plastic bottles and refrigerating them. As soon as I quit using the Willow breast milk coolers, my milk was fine and I finally was able to save up the milk I pumped while at work. While I absolutely love my Willow Go pumps, the coolers were an extreme disappointment, especially for how much I paid for them both (brand new).

Ice pack cracks
The bottle works amazing and is very convenient and easy to use. My first one lasted 4 months before the ice pack cracked so I bought a second one. The second lasted about a month and half. I thought it was a one off but when the second one did it I’ve decided to switch to a different brand.
