The Apex, by Muck Boot, is a high-performance waterproof lace-up hiker built on an innovative platform for high endurance outdoor pursuits requiring a more athletic and agile boot. A waterproof exterior coupled with breathable mesh linings to provide elite protection and moisture management. The 6-inch upper features a 3mm CR Flex-Foam neoprene liner that is 100-percent waterproof. A dual-density comfort footbed with memory foam delivers on long-lasting cushioning. An EVA midsole supplies cushion; a lugged rubber outsole supplies traction.

    Tough break in

    I am one that doesn't consume animal products so these stood out to me. The boots are well made and overall comfortable if you can make it past the break in period. The ankles take a beating the first couple of days. It think this suffering could've been avoided if the boot had a little more padding around the ankle.

    Solid, rugged and amazing price!

    They fit great and I believe they'll hold up in the bush or on the rocks. I'm sure they'll protect my feet while hunting or hiking and keep my feet dry too. Not bulky or heavy.

    Hook buttons hurt against the skin

    You might need a sock or something soft inside the boot for metal hooks pressing on the ankle area. Other than that I would have gave the boot 5stars

    Nice boot. Comfortable and breaks in fast.

    I find the boots comfortable. My only critique would be that under 10 degrees F, the rubber does conduct cold to the feet. If you wear a more robust sock, not an issue. They broke in pretty fast. I wore them after a week of break in time for a 10 mile hike and had no issues. Good value as well.

    Poor Design

    I just purchased these boots. I had the same problem that some of the reviews mentioned at the ankle area. After wearing the boots for only about 10 minutes they were digging into the upper ankle area causing pain and irritation. I gave them a chance for about 8 hours during work but there's no way I can continue wearing them subjecting my self to extreme discomfort during work. It's a shame because the rest of the boot is very nice.

    Great Boot once you learn not to lace them tight !

    So i bought a pair of these, seen the complaints about how folks complained about them rubbing your ankles. Well first time I put them on and laced them up they liked to killed my ankles when I went down a set of stairs to the basement. However I figured out why, I had them laced up way to tight, as soon as I loosened the laces up and did not use the very top speed lace all my problems went away. So now am thrilled with them, they are great in the snow will keep your fit nice n dry !!!!

    Painful

    Generally this is a pretty comfortable boot. It feels nice around my foot. But the transition from rubber to the neoprene digs into your ankle as the neoprene has little support or structure itself. That is not the worst part however. Something on the inside of the upper lace area puts pressure right on top of your inner ankle bone and it HURTS.

    For a hard working husband

    My husband always has foot pain, but the boots are soo comfortable he gets home from work and still goes shopping and visits family before getting home to take them off with no foot pain. He's really happy with his purchase.

    Great solid boots!

    Great sturdy boots and actually waterproof. Holding up very well to daily garbage collection in NYC. Easy to clean and keep my feet dry. Rubber construction and boots are not stretching or deforming. Thick sole shows no sign of wearing out. I put a lot of miles and beating on boots and these are really good so far.

    Alright, but didn’t love them. I retuned them.

    These look different in person than online. They look a little odd in person and they were uncomfortable around the ankle. I returned them.
