Scones Sublime
This mix is the ideal one for this novice home baker. The mix, my oven, and I are now a close-knit team, and the result is, each and every time, a batch of scones that turn, in combination with Stone Wall Kitchen Tangerine Marmelade, every breakfast into a foretaste of heaven - especially on, but not limited to, Monday mornings.

Great Scones!
Great scones. My husband is from England and says these are the most traditional ones we've had in a while!

Will be Christmas gift
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These scones are delicious, so I'm pairing up a box of scone mix w/ a jar of Holiday Jam for an easy little hostess gift when invited to friends houses over the holiday season.

Disappointing
I really love Stonewall Kitchens quality but I don't know what happened with this mix. I bake scones from scratch and thought maybe this mix would speed me up and keep me from having to measure ingredients first thing in the morning. I couldn't have been more wring. They did not turn out and were absolutely disgusting and gummy. Was the batter overworked? No!I am a trained baker and when it comes to butter I search for 85% butterfat. I will not buy this again and I just can not blindly recommend it because I like the rest of the companies product line.

So delciious - we make them all the time!
I have a limited diet due to migraine triggers so I need to prepare all my food and stay away from a lot of unhealthy added ingredients. I tried Stonewall's scone mix because the ingredients were pure and not harmful and also because we like a lot of their other products. I am an awful cook (actually hate to cook) but this recipe is very simple to follow and doesn't require 5 hours in the kitchen. The best part of course is the taste. These scones are so sumptuous (not too sweet or salty) I have to stop myself from eating too many when I take them out of the oven. I often freeze them so we can enjoy them for the week. You can add butter or jam but they are so yummy they don't even need it. The traditional are my favorite but we also love the blueberry scone mix. Thank you for making this fantastic product!

The Most Versatile Scones!
Basic mix to add your favorite fruits, nuts, extracts/flavorings & spices. I use sweet almond oil & evaporated milk, vanilla powder, spices, and a few anise seeds. Our Christmas morning treat: Apricot & Pecan Scones with a thin confectioner's sugar glaze. Can't be beat!

Best scone mix ever
Love the scones. They are sweet but not too sweet and pair so well with fruit or just nothing at all!

Best Scones
These are the best scones I have ever had. I generally do not like scones because they are hard & dry. These scones are soft & fluffy and so tasty. Everyone I have served them to has loved them!! And so easy to make!!

Modified recipe for outstanding scones!
Modified the recipe - used 1 stick unsalted and 1/2 stick salted Kate's butter. Combined with flour mix and froze overnight. Then added 1/3c half and half and 2/3c milk. Mixed until combined. Put on floured silicone pad. Added 1/2 cup of fresh berries coated in flour. Gently pushed into dough and folded over to cover berries. Pat out to approx 6" x 8" x 1 1/4" thick. Cut into triangles. Baked at 450F for 15 min until light brown. EXCELLENT!

scones
I totally disagree with Ani. Stonewall's products are great - I haven't tasted anything I didn't like. The scones are awesome - everyone I have served them has enjoyed them. Get a little creative with them and add craisins, chocolate chips or spread a little walnut honey butter on them while they are warm. They are wonderful!

Incredibly disappointing
These are the worst scones I have ever tasted! Even dosed in a very liberal amount of clotted cream and strawberry preserve, I ended up leaving part of mine on my plate. Never have I I left a bit os scone behind. I bought two mixes based on another reviewers 5 start review, clearly we differ in our our opinion on this particular product. They were overly sweet and tasted a bit like corn bread and that was the consistency of the interior. We didn't care for the flavor or the consistency. I used to feel that Stonewall kitchen delivered a line of wonderful products, but the last few things we have tried have not been up to snuff.
